Senior Water Quality Compliance Inspector - #2409 - Development Services - Public Works Division

Under general supervision, ensures compliance with Program permits and Program housekeeping Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SP3s) through inspections of sites, government facilities, investigates complaints, assists in stream monitoring projects, and other assignments related to areas of responsibility. Leads or conducts the more difficult permitting including Illicit Discharge.

This list of tasks is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY, and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by incumbents of this class.)The equivalent of a high school diploma and nine (9) years of direct work experience in construction, engineering, GIS and/or surveying field.

 Must have Level I, Level II Erosion Prevention, and Storm Water Control Measures (SCM) Certification. Must possess a valid driver's license.

OR

An Associate's Degree in Engineering, Surveying, GIS or directly related discipline from an accredited institution and seven (7) years of direct work experience in construction, engineering, GIS and/or surveying field.

 Must have Level I, Level II Erosion Prevention, and Storm Water Control Measures (SCM) Certification. Must possess a valid driver's license.

OR

A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Surveying, GIS or directly related discipline from an accredited institution and five (5) years of direct work experience in construction, engineering, GIS and/or surveying field.

 Must have Level I, Level II Erosion Prevention, and Storm Water Control Measures (SCM) Certification. Must possess a valid driver's license.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work requires moderate physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, walking and driving with occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds.  Work requires ability to visit work sites, walk rough terrain, reach remote locations which may require using steps, ladders, unpaved pathways, etc. and carry survey and sampling equipment.
