A leading next generation energy company is currently seeking a Senior Vice President of Engineering to join their team in Sacramento, CA.

Responsible for all aspects of the companys engineering product development activities, execution of the Companys EPC projects, and oversight of engineering staff.
The ideal candidate is a fully competent and knowledgeable engineering manager with experience executing on projects that are similar to the companys products (for example, experience with refinery, chemical plant, or similar project execution including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, start up and operations).
Serve as a key member of the management team that sets the companys strategic direction related to product development and engineering capabilities.
Develop strategic planning for the direction and control of product development activities.
Manage the companys engineering staff in Sacramento, CA and staff in other geographies.
Manage the company contractors (including contract engineers, EPC companies, fabricators, construction contractors, operators, and other contract staff)
Formulate long-term objectives and standards of performance for the department.
Manage delivery of the Companys products/solutions to achieve project completion within budget and time frame.
Assure that department achieves objectives and project completion within budget and time frame.
Motivate staff and provide technical direction and guidance, as well as hands-on project management, recognizing the role as that of both manager and support resource / mentor.
Hire and direct staff of senior group members to acquire necessary resources to meet scheduled commitments.
Education & Experience: Minimum BS engineering (with preferred MS or PHd)
15+ years of industry engineering experience, with at least 5-7 years in a management position.
Demonstrated team building and leadership skills.
Experience coming from a smaller company.
Out of the box thinker must be key driver contributing to the products roadmap and willing to take innovative product risk while balancing the road map for on time deliverables.
Competent in plant and system product design.
For example, process skids for oil and gas, chemical plants, other oil and gas or chemical industry equipment design.
Manage diverse, simultaneous projects of varying complexities.
Working knowledge of alternative, advanced principles and techniques of process engineering and knowledge of competing and alternative design techniques
Willingness to comply with applicable laws and regulations, the Companys Code of Business Conduct and other Company policies and procedures
MS / PhD strongly preferred
Experience with oil and gas process or chemical projects and development of process design packages deliverables such as simulation modeling, equipment datasheets, P&ID development, relief valve calculations, etc. is required
Knowledge of process simulation (Hysys, ChemCAD, etc)
Experience with GTL.
Has a understanding of instrumentation/control systems and its use in similar equipment.
