The Rehabilitation Counselor position is independent professional counseling work providing brain and spinal cord injury services to individuals with brain and/or spinal injuries. This position requires the incumbent to work very closely with moderate to severe brain and spinal cord injured individuals and their families.
The Rehabilitation Counselor must have the ability to communicate with individuals who have experienced a brain and/or spinal cord injuries, and their family, to efficiently conduct interviews to determine eligibility and services the consumer my need to reach to goal of a successful community reintegration.
The Rehabilitation Counselor must be proficient in the ability to maintain documentation of all activities relating to the consumers case including but not limited to case notes, medical records and consultative reports.
The Rehabilitation Counselor must be able to develop a working relationship as a liaison with faculties, community partners, service providers and others to identify any assistance that can be provided relating to the consumers needs.
The Rehabilitation Counselor must be able to manage and monitor a budget efficiently for their caseload.
Minimum Qualifications, KSAs, and/or other Specific Information:
A Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 1 3 years of experience in the field of disabilities.
Experience providing case management services to people with disabilities

Incumbent may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency.
