POSITION OVERVIEW

Responsible for Systems Engineering design of Gentex leading product line of Full-Display-Mirrors (FDM) and digital cameras with an emphasis on system level architecture design, working closely with OEM Engineering Leads, internal S/W, H/W, ME and Camera teams.

Design and develop new products, components and features in prototype and pre-launch environments. Execute design, development, and systems activity supporting sold programs in the launch environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Perform systems design in a cross-functional engineering team to develop and launch new products.

  • Create, evaluate, and implement system architecture including interface definition and description.

  • Develop system level requirements in an ASPICE environment with full traceability to customer requirements and detailed design.

  • Negotiate compliance to customer requirements with OEM technical teams.

  • Utilize system design analysis and simulation tools to aid in system design and to ensure products meet Gentex quality standards and UN regulatory requirements.

  • Follow Gentex system engineering processes including compliance to ISO26262 and Cyber Security requirements.

  • Measure and evaluate system performance leveraging analysis, system lab tools and vehicle integration evaluation.

  • Design and develop products or product families per the product strategy & roadmap.

  • Contribute to the development of Product Line strategies, roadmaps, and presentation material.

  • Research and support new technology assimilation opportunities.

  • Research and experiment as needed to maintain expertise in product or technology area.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert in your product or technology area.

  • Establish baseline test procedures for validation and quality assurance of finished components and products.

  • Prior to hand-off to Launch Teams, make best efforts to ensure new designs utilize parts, methods, and practices that are practical and realistic for series production.

  • Interface as needed across all areas and organizations within Gentex to ensure feasibility and consensus.

  • Other duties as assigned.

HOW YOU'LL DO IT

  • Product development competency. Demonstrate success in engineering fundamentals, product development and problem solving.

  • Utilize experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals in multiple complex projects.

  • Using your automotive or avionics experience in image processing, micro-electronics and software architecture from concept to production readiness.

  • Be a team player, dependable, problem solver, motivated, and customer oriented.

  • Creativity and situational flexibility. Be able to leverage your experience to guide customers and address design decisions.

  • Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.

  • Maintaining high level of honesty, integrity and confidentiality with respect to company matters.

WHAT TO BRING

  • B.S. or 4-year degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.

  • 5-10 years experience in automotive and/or avionics electronics development.

  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated success maintaining internal and external communications.

WHAT WILL HELP

  • Experience working with a variety of engineering or technical related fields, disciplines, practices, and procedures.
  • 10+ years relevant work experience.
