Your Role: You will be responsible for the planning, installation and upgrading of physical and virtual servers to meet capacity demand.
You will lead architectural design covering network, storage and compute layers to meet business demand.
You will provide technical leadership and hands-on support for issues within the virtualization platform as well as be responsible for design and implementation of new virtualization solutions. Ensure the platform is configured, tuned and maintained to meet performance requirements.
Be responsible for security and compliance management to ensure internal and industry standards are met. Perform the full lifecycle management including analysis, design, implementation, integration and maintenance of the virtualization infrastructure. Proactively work with other IT technical support teams to resolve incident and problem tickets. Ensure that documentation of policies & procedures are reviewed and updated and any gaps closed out.
Who you are: The ideal candidate has an automation focused mind set and ability to automate tasks.
Can utilize automation tools, e.g. Ansible, Chef and Puppet. You have the ability to apply ITIL v3 Foundation concepts within the workplace.
Strong organizational skills are needed to be successful as well as the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and with written documentation. You need to apply good judgment, implement solutions and resolve issues in a multi-tasked team environment.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required
Master's degree in Computer Applications or related field preferred
5+ years' experience in an architect role designing and administering large and complex virtual environments using VMware technology, including vRealize operations, Log Insight & Orchestrator
5 + years' experience in an operational support role using VMWare VSphere, HA, DRS, VCentre
3+ years' experience in a wider IT Technical Operations Role supporting Windows or Linux servers.
Good Knowledge in SAN/NAS storage solutions
Windows 2012 & 2016
Shell and/or Python scripting or other experience in programming is an advantage
