The Senior Vice President, Retail Strategy & Distribution position is responsible for collaborating with assigned Business Unit leaders to create annual marketing plans, ensuring top priorities are reflected in distributor engagement plans, regularly monitor results and initiatives.
The Senior Vice President, Retail Strategy & Distribution is directly accountable for the following responsibilities:
Work with leadership of assigned Business Units to create annual marketing and distribution plans. These plans should reflect Arch appetite and capabilities, competitive position; business priorities and strategies; and deep understanding of current and target distribution profile. Plan output should be clear distribution priorities that advance Business Unit direction and RoC.
Collaborate with Business Unit leaders to provide distribution input into Business Reviews, annual plan, reforecasts, monthly reports and other relevant activities.
Ensure that regional and national distribution management has clear understanding of Business Unit "elevator speech", strategies and distribution priorities.
Collaborate with regional / national distribution management and Business Units accountable people to ensure execution of identified distribution priorities. As appropriate, work directly with distributors to advance specific initiatives.
Work with the Business Units to develop and mine prospective lists for cross marketing and target accounts.
Communicate Business Unit success stories on a regular basis to key internal and external contacts.
Analyze Business Unit distribution results on regular basis to ensure targets will be achieved
Monitor progress of key distribution initiatives and make adjustments as appropriate based on results
Consistently conduct analysis of the competitive market and trends and adjust strategies and priorities accordingly
Gain internal input for marketing plans on historical distribution profile (Distribution Data/Analytics); distributor initiatives, performance and direction (Regional/National Distribution Management); and market opportunity (Distribution Data/Analytics).
Obtain external feedback for marketing plans from brokers based on surveys or other research performed regarding Arch or the specific business segment (e.g., Aon Insight).
Collaborate closely with Business Unit leaders and underwriters plus Regional/National Distribution Management to build, refine and execute strategies and initiatives.
Influence Marketing to build effective communication and marketing campaigns that support key distribution priorities
Strong strategic and critical thinking capabilities
Broad understanding of insurance marketplace across lines of business

Preferred Technical Skills:
10+ years in P&C sales and/or marketing management
Extensive experience managing retail and/or wholesale distribution channels
Successful experience developing and implementing growth strategies
