Our purpose
Operational and Resilience Risk (ORR) oversees the Non-Financial Risk Framework (NFR) and provides independent second line review and challenge over Non-Financial Risks and Resilience Risks.
We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join the Operational and Resilience Risk team as a Senior Vice President
As our Senior Vice President Operational and Resilience Risk Oversight Wealth and Personal Banking you will:
Ensure the framework is fit for purpose, utilizes industry best practice, and aligns with strategic objectives, regulatory requirements, relevant policies, and frameworks
Enable the WPB businesses to effectively manage Non-Financial Risk
Enable Non-Financial Risk Stewards to provide effective oversight of the Bank's NFR position
Produce insightful Non-Financial risk and control reporting to key WPB risk governance
Coordinate, monitoring and reporting of WPB ORR Risk Appetite
Coordinate challenge of the first line control and risk owners to ensure that risk management activities are working effectively
Provide subject matter expertise, advice, guidance, and effective challenge to the Risk and Control Owners
Support definition of the Risk and Control Library, including minimum control standards, with input from Risk Owners, and Control Owners, specifying key risks and key controls and providing guidance on continuous monitoring expectations
Recommend Risk and Control Assessment scoping, and challenge where this is not appropriately applied in the Risk and Control Assessment
Challenge Risk and Control Owners, Chief Control Officers and Risk Stewards on risk and control management, including inherent risk, residual risk, control effectiveness ratings, issues, actions, and events
Work with the business to understand the impact of emerging risks that require changes to controls, resources, and business operations to ensure they remain within appetite as well as Internal audit to understand the outcomes of their reviews and how this affects the control environment
Coordinate review and challenge on Non-Financial Risk impacts related to material change initiatives and new products
For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $128,100.00 and $192,200.00
The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements
You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:
Minimum of 8 years of experience in Financial Services in an Operational and Resilience Risk or related role
Relevant Non- Financial Risk Management knowledge and experience working with banks of a similar size as HSBC
Relevant Operational and Resilience Risk experience for a Wealth and Personal Banking business
Demonstrable experience of challenging views with courageous integrity to do the right thing
Ability to work in fast-paced environment with proven ability to handle multiple outputs at one time
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with experience in a complex global environment
Experience of working with Operational Risk, Internal and External Audit
Has developed a high level of professionalism and competency which helps to determine solutions around appropriate risk measures, risk processes, risk monitoring and management
Bachelor's Degree required. MBA or graduate degree preferred
