Job Summary
This position will be an integral member of the Arch Insurance North American Finance team reporting into the Chief Financial Officer of Arch Insurance North America and will be tasked with leading and transforming our Middle Market operations.
Responsibilities
To lead and coordinate all aspects of financial operations and reporting for Middle Markets.
Ensure that all operational activities involving finance are being delivered with proper SLAs and expectations, including, but not limited to, billing, claims funding, reinsurance, etc.
Will have extensive interaction with various departments/disciplines at the group, including actuarial, legal, reinsurance, claims and IT to ensure a cohesive operation.
Provide financial reports, analysis and insight for internal and external financial information clients - senior management, underwriting, etc. - to ensure that consistent and accurate reporting is communicated on a timely basis.
Key contributing member of the management team working to transform the operations.
Integral support for public company parent's SEC filing and local regulatory reporting as it relates to the results of the operations.
Assist with the periodic planning and reforecasting process, including evaluating current performance to plan.
Education and Experience
Leader and team player that understands the needs for guidance and vision as well as the ability to provide hands-on direction
Experience both running and building out operations as part of mergers and acquisitions and other significant change management initiatives.
Entrepreneurial curiosity and desire to own the success of the business.
Willingness to modernize and advance processes and reporting.
Dynamic and motivated individual, capable of handling complex structured tasks that require close attention to timing and detail, as well as unplanned projects and challenges that require effective and unique solutions, often in a compressed timeframe.
Ability to work with and coordinate various operational disciplines (underwriting, claims, IT, etc.) to ensure that finance is communicating between functions and capturing all required information for downstream financial reporting.
Ability to effectively communicate analysis and conclusions to financial information end-users.
Minimum 10 years of property and casualty insurance industry experience.
Finance or accounting degree required.

For individuals assigned or hired to work in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Jersey City, NJ; New York State; and/or Washington State, the base salary range is listed below. This range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
$233,600 - $316,400/year
Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above range may be modified in the future
