We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice President, Business Intelligence & Data Management. This role is located based in New York, New York

Oversees the development of internal datasets to create automated data workflows, dashboards / visualization and market intelligence for internal clients; works with business unit managers to define reporting & analytic goals. Independently designs automated workflows, data sets and visualizations / dashboards to meet internal client needs.

Analyzes, reconciles, troubleshoots and reviews incoming and outgoing data to ensure accurate performance/output. Tests data quality and works directly with outside vendors to confirm they have all necessary information. Supports client-facing staff in various areas of Investment Management with adhoc data requests and proactive analytics support.

Has solid understanding of all available data sources and can appropriately leverage internal and external systems, databases, etc. to develop analytics approach, describe characteristics of a visualization, and explain results of an analysis to a non-technical audience. Evaluates and implements new technologies, and develops new complex systematic interelated processes in support of business new reporting objectives.

Independently conducts advanced, complex data analyses and metric needs for assigned analytic tasks or based on requirements gathered working with business partners and sales teams.

Assists the business/clients to define data workflows, dashboards or reporting requirements. Collaborates with management to design and implement the techniques and automated design methodologies to be used for each type of activity/analysis. Directs new data modeling, workflows, or metric analysis projects and serves as a subject matter expert to less experienced colleagues unfamiliar with particular specialized process or data sets.

Uses BI technology tools to conduct analyses; applies techniques and develop new automated workflows or dashboard visualizations, including SQL querying and macro development to extract data for populating databases. Develops complex systematic processes in support business requirements for new metrics / analyses. Implements new systems / application, programs workflows or system configuration in order set up sophisticated data processes or algorithms to create new complex data sets for new metric reporting and dashboards.

Partners with management to evaluate and select the most appropriate technologies. Processes pre-defined data workflows to update existing dashboard reporting or to provide updated data sets to market data vendors and ensures the quality and accurate delivery/transfer of test and production files. Analyzes and monitors data/reports to ensure quality of and accurate transfer, integration, translation, and reporting of data, reacting promptly to data quality statistics and client inquiries.

Based on analysis, executes moderate to complex data fixes, resulting in improved performance or accuracy. Leverages internal and external databases and dashboards for purposes of data analysis, and aggregation to examine and analyze data on clients and the marketplace to support business development, segmentation, tactical opportunity analyses and sales strategy adjustments at a firm, channel or regional level and provides gathered insights in presentation to sales management. Liaison and advisor to sales management, providing expertise on data for market environment and helping to develop client and business strategies.

No formal supervisory responsibility but provides work oversight to less experienced analysts and provides input into their performance assessments. Leads projects of complex or large / global scope. Contributes to the achievement of team and area objectives.

Impact of work is felt beyond team and contribute to achievement of broader IM distribution goals. Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced degree in quantitative / STEM field preferred. 10+ years of relevant experience. Experience in quantitative or technology field and Investment management preferred.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $108,700 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.

This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
