In support of our ongoing growth, we are looking for a Senior Value Engineer.

Senior Value Engineer Job Description

In support of our ongoing growth, we are looking for Value Engineers to support the sales team in establishing and defining the value of Plex products and services for our prospects. The position is located in our Troy, MI headquarters or can be remote. Responsibilities include the following:

  • Collaborate with sales executives, solution engineers and consulting executives to position and articulate the value of Plex

  • Apply value selling disciplines and processes across multiple accounts and account segments

  • Work with Solution and Value engineers to establish tools and frameworks to provide value to Plex prospects and customers

  • Maintain libraries and databases of benchmarking data, findings and other information

  • Perform analysis of industry trends, issues, challenges, external drivers and strategies

  • Conduct company specific analysis and develop a financial estimate of KPI improvement

  • Use and maintain related analytical tools and documentation

  • Conduct on-site discovery of prospect issues, KPI's and current processes

  • Conduct financial analysis leading to the development of findings, recommendations and executive presentations

  • Facilitate executive worships for industry best practices, value attainment, solution capabilities and recommendations

  • Perform customer engagements including the facilitation of executive meetings along with presentation of findings to prospect executives

  • Develop on-going value engineering methods and thought leadership


  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business Management

  • Executive presence and experience conducting "C" level conversations

  • Consulting/client advisory experience is a strong plus

  • Prior solution sales experience

  • Understanding of basic business accounting and statistics

  • Career experience in manufacturing or supply chain consulting, sales, or technology

  • MES and/or ERP experience is highly desirable

  • Technical capabilities in Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint and Excel

  • Strong communication and analytical skills

  • Proficiency in performing online business research

  • Strong presentation development skills

  • Ability to travel

Working with internal and external teams, the Connected Services Systems Engineer develops requirements in a flexible and robust manner to support our worldwide customer base. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: * Defines the end to end connected services feature requirements including definition for all customer interaction channels (i.e. smartphone and web). * Provides a level of functional detail in requirements sufficient for downstream teams to use in designing a robust feature * Completes a thorough failure mode analysis for features and ensures that the results are factored into the functional requirements. * Works with the Business Architect team to include the necessary security elements within the functional requirements. * Supports the team in developing the functional objectives and user stories for new features and enhancements. * Ensures components within the system are properly defined through functional specifications to support the connected services feature. * Updates a project plan for each feature and communicates status, risks and escalations to the leadership team. Requirements: * Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related experience required. * 5+ years of leadership responsibility in managing multiple, large, cross-functional teams or projects and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders. * Experience working in Connected Features Design or Development. * Experience implementing, expanding and maintaining various connected vehicle feature enablers and connected services. * Experienced with integrating complex multi-systems solutions and with Cloud, iOT platforms. * Experience with evaluating systems designs, API design and development practices. * Strong knowledge of requirements gathering techniques. * Experience in developing artifacts such as Entity Relation Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams, User Stories, Use Cases, Swim Lanes, etc. * Demonstrated leadership and initiative with the ability to collaborate with the global team to creatively solve complex problems. * Troubleshooting / Root cause analysis experience. * Ability to indirectly lead a cross-functional team towards a common solution. * Ability to work within an offshore application development supplier engagement model. * Self-starter with the ability to quickly learn complex business processes. * Strong multi-tasking capabilities in a cross-functional setting. * Ability to interact with business partners and service providers at multiple levels. * Ability to hold themselves and others accountable for resolving issues and maintaining project timelines. Preferred Qualifications * Exposure to AGILE, DEVOPS & ITIL concepts. * Experience in managing DFMEA's, vehicle CAN Bus and logging tools is a plus. Travel and Driving Notes: * Will be required to drive a company car.
