Senior UX Designer - Design Systems and Financial Advice UX

This is a unique UX Designer role in which 50% of your time is dedicated to continuous improvement of our Digital Advisor Design System, and 50% of your time to standard Digital Advisor UX Team interface design work.

  • 50% of responsibilities are specific to the Design System.
  • 50% of responsibilities are UX Design in the Offer Enablement Family.

In this role you will...

Design System Responsibilities:

  • Documenting interaction patterns for re-use.

  • Identification of existing inconsistencies and resolving them.

  • Intake and finalization of new Design System components.

  • Organization of our Design System in Abstract.

  • Empowering the Digital Advisor UX Team to design with speed and consistency.

  • Continuous refactoring of the Digital Advisor Design System to transition most components to the enterprise-wide Vanguard Constellation Design System.

UX Design Responsibilities:

  • The other half of this role is to our standard UX Design responsibilities within the Offer Enablement family in Digital Advisor.

  • You'll partner with a full stack UX team including a UX Strategist, UX Researcher, and Content Strategist. You'll also partner with a Data Analyst, Product Manager, Product Owner, Tech Lead, and Developers.

  • Create prototypes for testing and communication with teammates.

  • Defines interaction design details.

  • Iterate on designs based on feedback from clients.

  • Present designs at design critiques and update as needed.

  • Design with accessibility best practices.

  • Collaborate with the other designers across families to ensure consistency of patterns.

  • Deliver responsive designs for mobile web and desktop.

The Digital Advisor UX Team brings financial advice to millions of clients through crafting practical, useful, and innovative solutions to client problems. Solves client problems in partnership with cross-functional family members (Product Manager, Product Owner, Data Analyst, Developers, UX Strategist, UX Researcher, Content Strategist, UX Writer).

What it takes...

  • Undergraduate degree (or equivalent training and experience in a creative or technical field).

  • At least 3 years of industry/field-specific experience, including interactive web design, working in an agile environment.

  • Prior experience focused on design systems.

  • Portfolio or work samples required.
