Position Summary...

What you'll do...

Reimagining Retail is what Sam's Club is all about. We connect the physical and digital worlds to bring innovative experiences to life. And you can be at the intersection of strategy, technology, and innovation, all working together to serve our members with amazing value and best in class convenience.

Sam's Club is building Clubhouse, a dedicated space for ideas, collaboration and solutions that push our business forward and strengthen our commitment to being a member-obsessed organization. It's a 37,000 sq. ft. design studio opening soon in Bentonville, Arkansas. Here's where we'll imagine next-generation retail experiences, by designing for physical and digital experiences, prototyping, user testing and so much, much more. Clubhouse will provide the collaborative environment, and you will provide the innovative mindset.

We're looking for a passionate design professional to work at the intersection of strategy, technology and innovation. You'll be strong at forming relationships quickly and moving fast, while using design thinking methodologies, user insight and data to align the organization around what matters to our members and create the future for our members and associates.

What you'll do:

  • Lead in the creation of business, consumer, and associate product experiences.

  • Work in cross-functional teams and welcome feedback from senior leaders.

  • Think holistically - about the people using our products, a cohesive design system, and end-to-end experiences.

  • Solve complex problems and work with others with the same passion, to collaborate and merge solutions into a cohesive physical and digital design ecosystem.

  • Switch gears from deep design thinking to rapid-fire execution.

  • Express your design point of view and openly advocate for another team member's design.

What you'll bring:

  • Proven track record of deploying user interface standards and conventions, functional communication flows and dynamic, engaging interfaces.

  • Strong understanding of design theory and concepts to create effective visual communication with hierarchy and balance (typography, color, space, contrast)

  • You're a systems thinker with the ability to communicate concepts to audiences of all levels of understanding.

  • Working knowledge of inclusive design principles, including digital and physical accessibility guidelines

  • Ability to produce great work in short timeframes, multi-task across different projects and platforms and adapt to the ever-changing priorities of the business.

  • Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.

  • Experience with competitive analysis, primary & secondary research and journey maps & service blueprints.

  • Inclusive design philosophy with a strong editorial sense. You gather feedback judiciously but know when to adjust and when to follow your initial vision.

  • Solid blend of digital, physical and graphic design skills and an eye for detail (You're probably stronger on one side than the other)

  • You can craft experiences for any channel or platform, tailored to the needs of our members and associates.

  • You thrive on collaboration - be it with other designers, business partners, product owners or engineering

  • Impressive product design portfolio that demonstrates how you design to solve for both business requirements and customer needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4 years' experience designing for multiple platforms and operating systems.

  • 4 years' experience gathering business requirements, site assessments, competitive analysis, and secondary research.

  • 4 years' experience partnering with cross-functional teams to launch new products and improve existing product features.

  • 2 years' experience utilizing strategic product thinking and vision.

  • 2 years' experience directing a cross-functional team through the product design process to launch.

  • Complimentary skills in your Product Designer arsenal: prototyping (with Flinto, Framer, Marvel, Principle or similar), user research, motion design, illustration, video production, etc

  • Experience designing compelling experiences for large, customer-facing properties
