Parsons is now hiring an experienced Utilities Engineer who can apply advanced engineering techniques and supervise a team of Engineers and Designers.

We need our engineers to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, teamoriented environment and who have exceptional communication, analytical and management skills. In this role you will supervise a group of five or more Engineers and design personnel, usually in one discipline, by directing technical engineering assignments and coordinating project staffing. You will help to define scope of work, design criteria, schedule, standards, and procedures for project assignments.

Determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule. Willingness to travel or relocate to site locations in California. First project wold be located in Fresno, CA for 3-6 months. Expenses would be paid.


Oversee a utility design teams quality, design schedule, and overall progress.

Coordinates with other design disciplines, utility companies, railroads, and clients

Lead coordination meetings and oversee the process of utility design development, verification and validation, and utility package submittals

Lead utility task force meetings with a focus on mitigating the high risk of utilities.

Develop utility design directives to streamline processes and procedures.

Coordinate with clients, contractors, utility designers, and discipline design managers in a diplomatic and effective manner.

Ensure that aggressive project deadlines were achieved, while producing high-quality documents that meet requirements

Performs complex engineering tasks work efficiently and accurately.

Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings. Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.

Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.

Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.

Makes staffing assignments and reassignments as project needs arise.

Conducts performance evaluations, takes corrective action as necessary, recommends promotions and salary actions, and recommends training and development for assigned personnel.

Provides technical direction, making decisions and/or obtaining additional technical staff assistance as the situation warrants.

Promotes technical excellence on the project, including furthering the Quality Improvement Process.

Ensures that adequate checking is performed in accordance with discipline checking policy and procedures.

Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.


Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field)
15+ years of related work experience

Professional Engineer registration may be required

Proven ability to perform in a lead capacity

Excellent written and oral communications skills

Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required

Must also possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project.
