AXA XL's Design Professional team is seeking to enhance its underwriting team with an Underwriter position focusing on the Eastern portions of the United States. This is an opportunity to manage a book of business from an individual transaction to portfolio level and exert control over the strategy and production for an underwriting region.
What will your essential responsibilities include?
Underwriting both new and renewal business within assigned territory. Assisting in achieving profitable premium and rate goals, working with actuarial and claims and successfully delivering results consistent with financial plan.
Developing, maintaining and servicing broker relationships within the distribution model. Coordinate with brokers to determine their marketing and education needs supported by AXA XL Design Professional Platform.
Working with Underwriting Regional Leaders in furthering the AXA XL Design Professional Platform and achieving business' financial plan.
Interacting directly with insureds, brokers and producers and service accounts and brokers.
Working collaboratively in a team environment, assisting underwriters, underwriting assistants and management team.
Developing technical knowledge of design professional risk management to act as a resource on our product including ability to deliver educational programs, contract reviews, assist with policy coverage evaluations.
Ensuring high quality service standards and compliance with all internal audit guidelines.
Acting as a representative of the company and our agents by attending internal/external company functions, agent sponsored and industry events.
Contributing to the regional strategy for business distribution.
You will report to the Regional Manager, AXA XL Design Professional Underwriting.
We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
Bachelor's Degree required.
Industry designation or professional registration preferred: LLB, JD, BSc, BEng, RPLU, CPCU, IIA, CRIS
A minimum of three years of commercial insurance experience (e.g., underwriting, claims, or insurance risk management or insurance related business development experience).
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong insured and broker contacts.
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent customer service focus is a must.
Collaborative team player who provides creative solutions and ideas for resolution.
Travel /- 30%.
