The Senior Underwriter, Cyber & Technology will act within established guidelines, market, analyze, review, evaluate and monitor new and renewal accounts of all programs, exercise independent judgment in the processing of accounts and manage underwriting activities. Product lines include Cyber, Technology, Miscellaneous Professional Liability and Media.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prospects new business targets and opportunities and develops strategies to procure new business

  • Manages personal book of business with regard to new lines, renewals, and cross-marketing of product lines within AXIS

  • Meets established divisional servicing objectives related to quote turnaround, policy issuance, phone management, renewal management, file maintenance, and documentation

  • Analyzes and underwrites individual risks. Develop appropriate limit structure, retention, pricing and endorsements within underwriting guidelines. Refer to supervisor for approval.

  • Continues to develop and update product and underwriting knowledge.

  • Participates in prospecting through the identification of new business targets and opportunities, work closely with producer/agent to ensure department receives opportunity to offer proposal. Make strategy recommendations to supervisor.

  • Reviews and evaluates primarily new business based upon company underwriting guidelines, competition and geographic focus. Develops strategy and makes recommendations.

  • Reviews coverage requests provided by agent and determine department's position relating to such requests within individual authority granted. Present those requests outside the individual authority to immediate supervisor for approval or guidance.

  • Cross markets between the product offerings within the department and other business units.

  • Performs required number of broker marketing calls, including out of state travel. Solicit new accounts, gather market intelligence and deliver up-to-date department information relating to products and services. Manage select agency relationships to ensure objectives are achieved.

  • Maintains up-to-date familiarity with economic and legal factors that impact the department's lines of business and the overall insurance industry.

  • Participates in special projects and department initiatives at the request of manager.

  • Coordinates with branch marketing representatives and profit center representatives to allow for cross marketing.

Required Education/Training & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Mathematics, Finance, Risk Management, Insurance or related field preferred

  • A minimum of 5-7 years' relevant experience in underwriting and/or brokering

  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to establish broker relationships within the region

Often collaborate with the Technology Senior management team to deliver financial information in a concise and meaningful manner to foster effective decision-making. This position will be one of the subject matter experts for Technology Finance within USIS and will lead a team of two financial professionals. Responsibilities * Drive valuable planning, budgeting and forecasting activities. Work with various areas of the business and business unit management to prepare annual budgets, including summarizing the budget and preparing presentations supporting Technology initiatives. * Analyze Technology spending (operating expense and capital) trends, and prepare reports and synopsis of the business results for reporting to the business and management. * Work with the various areas of the business, managers and business unit management on monthly financial forecasts reflecting expenses, headcount, capital and other metrics. * Develop business cases along with the business case sponsor and various business areas. * Assist in preparation and implementation of new standardized reporting model (COGS, COS, Development, G&A, etc.) * Work collaboratively with other FP&A team members in preparing monthly forecasts and the annual budget, seeing opportunities to enhance financial outlooks, and other financial analysis tasks and projects. * Forecast and plan resource for complex projects or initiatives * Provide ongoing support to the business. * Possess a financial designation (e.g. CFA or CPA) * Prior experience leading a team of finance professionals * You will conduct month end close What makes you a good fit for this role? * University Bachelor degree in Finance or a related discipline * 7+ years of experience in a finance related capacity * Technology finance experience to include creation and presentation of complex business cases. Also experience with the concept of Capitalized Development spending. * Make decisions guided by policies in nonstandard situations that impact the achievement of customer, operational, or project objectives * Critical thinking skills, ability to adapt and prioritize multiple tasks, and multi-task given multiple business demands. * Be able to work as a member of a team and influence others. * Effective verbal and written communication skills. * Have strong PC skills, with a particular emphasis on Microsoft Excel. * Experience using Hyperion, Oracle Projects and/or OBI (Business Intelligence Objects) Who is Equifax?
