Location: Pleasanton, CA; Santa Clara, CA; San Diego, CA

The Experience Organization at ServiceNow is growing rapidly and we are hiring across our many offices across the US. For the UI/UX Designer we are specifically looking to fill the role in our offices Pleasanton, CA; San Diego, CA; and Santa Clara, CA.

You will be part of the growing world-class Experience Organization (EO). What your day-to-day may include:

  • Design elegant solutions founded on world-class UX and UI practice for multiple platforms and for an extensive range of products

  • Designing data visualizations that allow users to quickly understand and analyze complex data sets

  • Lead design project that define, grow ServiceNow's enterprise design system

  • Write detailed documentation for both new and existing products, that focus on detailing proper usage, interactions, and visual specifications for a broad audience of designers and engineers.

  • Guide execution of designs as it translates from concept to code

  • Help evangelize design system principles and guidelines to teams

  • Collaborate daily with teammates to create, review and iterate on design ideas

  • Work with product management, engineers, and other designers from across the company to develop strong UX and UI solutions for our users

  • Solve UX problems through visual design that are well-defined or ambiguous in nature

What you have:

  • At least 5 years or equivalent experience in applying user-centered design on web-based and mobile products

  • An inspiring portfolio that demonstrates your work and showcases your ability to deliver consumer and user-driven design

  • College degrees in Human Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Visual Communication, or similarly interdisciplinary fields are preferred

  • Expert knowledge of typography, color theory, UI design and layout principles

  • Strong knowledge of user interface design, usability evaluation techniques, perception, cognition, task analysis, experimental design, and statistics

  • Experience with creating, managing, and enforcing a style guide or design system

  • Experience creating visual design that meets product, marketing, and engineering requirements in a cohesive, systematic, and user-focused manner

  • Extensive experience in designing applications from sketches to wireframes to high-fidelity mockups

  • Must be able to expertly utilize, identify and demonstrate hands-on design skills including stakeholder interviews, storyboarding, facilitating workshops, prototyping, and usability testing

  • Exceptional command of design tools such as Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Must have strong written and verbal English communication skills

  • Must have excellent teamwork, communication, and technical problem-solving skills to contribute within a multi-functional and multi-disciplined team

  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision in a fluid, fast-paced and truly agile environment

  • Expected to demonstrate a high level of initiative, good sense of humor, and a "make it work" ethos

What you may also have

  • Experience designing and shipping Enterprise solutions

  • An understanding of front-end development, including Bootstrap, HTML, CSS, Sass and/or JavaScript is preferred.

  • Strong leadership qualities and the ability to mentor other designers on topics of expertise.

  • Experience designing compliant, best-in-practice, accessible user interfaces and interactions

  • Experience facilitating design thinking workshops

Defend design decisions and incorporate feedback into the design cycle * Be Agile – You can operate in an Agile environment and, in it, you'll drive usability initiatives to improve overall user experiences * Emphasize organization and transparency – Organize your work so that it can be easily accessed and understood by others on the team * Create and deliver great products! - Design experiences that are natural to use and beautiful to look at What You'll need: * BS/MS in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, or equivalent experience * 7+ years of professional experience as a UX designer * Ability to translate complex concepts into easy to understand information architecture and user interaction * 3+ years of experience working on enterprise applications * Track record in driving product design strategy, approach delivering high-quality user-centric designs launched successfully as a product or feature * Experience in leading design projects with an iterative process * Experience in working closely with engineering and PMs on complex enterprise applications (e.g., data visualization, highly interactive apps, etc.) * Experience driving UX strategy across an organization * Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional and multi-cultural team environment * Strong communication skills and a positive attitude * A strong portfolio that showcases your work, which provides details of your role on projects and shows examples of functional designs that you have developed from requirements through design delivery * Familiar with current UX best practices and trends And Ideally: * UX research experience, whether with internal or external stakeholders * Front-end coding experience or engineering background * Excited about learning and being challenged * Experience in the security domain If you've reached this point in the job description and feel you're still not sure if you should apply…Just do it!
