Overview

The Senior Truck Service Mechanic services and repairs trucks, tanks, and equipment, coordinates scheduling of service, tracks and reports work orders and maintains service inventory, following safety standards which comply with all company, local, City, State and Federal guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, rebuild, or replace pumps, meters, and registers on LP or refined trucks.

  • Perform DOT and VK inspections on company vehicles.

  • Perform PTO repairs on company vehicles.

  • Welding and fabrication work on vehicles, tanks, and service beds.

  • Troubleshoot Energy Force delivery software systems in company vehicles, coordinating with the IT team and/or the vendor to resolve issues.

  • Basic troubleshooting / repairs for electrical systems, lights, base systems, ET system, truck & tank wiring.

  • Schedule repairs on vehicles with BP and LP locations.

  • Maintain accurate parts inventories and reorder through warehouse when necessary.

  • Perform accurate cycle counts of all inventory items.

  • Keep accurate documentation of all work performed on each job. Documentation should include but will not be limited to parts, labor, description of initial problem, and solution.

  • Assist Warehouse with lubricant and DEF inventories, loading and offloading of lubricants and DEF, and transferring products from bulk into totes.

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with direct supervisor to provide updates on current projects.

  • Clean and maintain equipment assigned to position.

  • Operate safely according to company safety procedures.

  • Promptly communicate any issues related to safety or efficiencies to supervisor for both trucks and equipment.

  • Follow posted work schedule and adhere to proper clocking procedures to accurately reflect hours worked.

  • All MFA Oil employees are expected to know and adhere to company and position specific policies and procedures. While this job description contains the primary duties of the position, employees may be expected to perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.

  • Ability to troubleshoot vehicle and equipment repair issues.

  • Experience with and ability to use a wide range of automotive repair tools.

  • Basic mathematical skills.

  • Organizational skills.

  • Valid driver's license required.

  • Ability and willingness to obtain a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker, HAZMAT, and air brake endorsements within the first 120 days of employment and maintain all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements per the vehicle requirements.

  • Ability to pass in person training and MFA Oil Company Record of Road test requiring operation of both manual and automatic transmission vehicles within 120 days of employment.

  • Ability to safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles in a variety of weather and road conditions.

  • Ability and willingness to become propane (CETP) certified as determined by the state(s) served.

  • Physical strength and dexterity to walk, stand, bend, climb, reach, stoop, twist and lift/carry 100 pounds.

  • Ability to spend 6-9 hours a shift standing and/or walking.

  • Vision, hearing, speech, and ability to detect odors.

  • Ability to work in an environment with possible contact with hazardous materials.

  • Ability to drive and work in adverse weather conditions.

  • Ability and willingness to work scheduled overtime.

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language to communicate with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.

  • Ability to meet Company requirements, including successful background and MVR check, and drug test.

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Skills

  • Three or more years of documentable and verifiable experience in performing regulatory testing.

  • Training and/or experience in truck maintenance.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to meet deadlines with a high degree of time management skills.
