The Corporate Treasury team is growing and is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Treasury Investment & Financial Analyst. The Senior Treasury Investment & Financial Analyst is responsible for performing various cash, investment, float income and yield forecast modeling and reporting, investment management and analysis, financial analysis, bank fee account analysis and metrics. This position reports to the Corporate Treasury & Investment Manager.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the performing and further developing of various cash and investment 12 month rolling forecast models, schedules, dashboards and monthly, quarterly reporting for multiple entities

  • Maintain investment/float income and yield forecast models for multiple entities

  • Maintain long term investment portfolio amortization schedules and track individual investments to stay abreast of maturing investments. Make recommendations on reinvestment maturities based upon current market conditions

  • Maintain monthly schedules of bank and investment account balances, interest earnings, AA fees, Treasury dashboard and various other metrics

  • Work closely with Accounting team to provide guidance and understanding of investment types, maturities and mark-to-market to ensure accurate GL entries are booked

  • Provide required quarterly cash and investment forecast reporting to Senior Management

  • Monitor markets and economy for key indicators for Federal Reserve interest rate increases, research US and global economic forecasts and industry reports to build scenarios into investment forecast models

  • Monitor various interest rates to ensure that current investment selections are optimal

  • Support the Investment Policy Compliance process by tracking, monitoring and reporting investments to ensure that they fall within set parameters

  • Analyze monthly bank account analysis fees for service pricing reasonableness and accuracy and identify trends

  • Calculate monthly net interest earned after fees and report to management

  • Develop and maintain Treasury procedures

  • Ensure compliance with established internal controls, policies and procedures.

  • Provide support for audit requests as needed

  • Perform various projects and additional tasks as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in performing forecasts for cash and investments

  • Experience with investment management and analysis, financial analysis, bank and investment balance reporting, and bank fee analysis

  • Thorough understanding of financial markets and various investment vehicles

  • Knowledge of Investment Accounting

  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel

  • High attention to detail, accuracy and tight deadlines

  • Possess analytical, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Self-driven, quick learner, team-player, flexible, upbeat and energetic

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Corporate Treasury, Investments and Financial Analysis experience preferred

  • Treasury Management System (TMS) experience is a plus

  • ERP system experience is a plus

Education/Certification/License:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Senior Financial Management Analysts work in the Division of Budget/CIP (Community Investment Plan) and Grants in the City Manager's Office. They serve as fiscal and management consultants to departments and as staff advisors to the City Manager's Office. Analysts are assigned specific City departments and are responsible for coordinating and developing recommendations for resource allocation activities and issues throughout the year. Work performed includes budget monitoring, forecasting, and operational analysis. Employees in this class conduct in-depth administrative and operational studies; develop and perform statistical and research studies; advise departments regarding budget issues, draft policies and procedures, assist in the maintenance of proper budgetary controls; prepare special financial and budget reports; and participate in a wide variety of related complex special assignments and projects. Work requires close attention to detail and a high level of analytical ability in order to provide input in the formulation of the City's budget. Employees must be proficient in the use of appropriate computer programs, have expert level proficiency in the use of Excel and other spreadsheet programs, and have the ability to analyze financial and other data.
