What is the opportunity?

The Senior Treasury Analyst will preserve the safety and soundness of RBC Bank by supporting comprehensive Balance Sheet Management and Forecasting of Net Interest Income. You will ensure RBC Bank Treasury operates and executes strategies within guidance of regulators and internal review functions by preparing ALCO and Board reporting, performing Interest Rate Risk analysis, and conducting variance analysis of Net Interest Income and Net Interest Margin. This position supports both execution and transparency to management, parent, and regulators that activities are conducted within stated risk profile of bank.

What will you do?

• Maintain and improve processes supporting RBC Bank's leadership in the area of balance sheet management by providing expertise in risk measurement, complemented by a sound understanding of retail and investment products as well as hedging mechanics

• Support Balance Sheet and Income Statement forecasting process as well as capital planning and stress testing support.

• Reporting and transparency - Position provides reports to ALCO and Board that illustrate the level of market risk being taken relative to authorized limits and highlights opportunities and prospective risks within the bank balance sheet for current activities and initiatives under consideration.

• Support Treasurer in assessing the impact of balance sheet strategies on Interest Rate Risk and projected NII or NIM levels.

• Perform monthly review and challenge of Interest Rate Risk metrics

• Responsible for weekly liquidity analysis and reporting to Corporate Treasury

• Responsible for preparing materials for auditors as well as external reporting or reporting required by bank regulators

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• 6+ years of relevant experience

• Strong knowledge of interest rate sensitivity concepts and measurements

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience

• Expert level in Excel as well as experience with Relational Databases

• Knowledge of Bank accounting systems and GAAP

Nice-to-have

• Prior experience working in a Treasury department
• 3+ years of experience in interest rate risk within a bank
• QRM
