Brief DescriptionThis person is responsible for providing complex analytical support for transportation programs. Leads supply chain projects and analyses, as well as leads supplier relationships including managing the relationship, contract negotiations, and supplier interaction. Supports specific modes including, but not limited to small package, LTL, private fleet, dedicated, international, courier, etc. Also responsible for supporting the company with respect to government regulatory agencies (DOT, FAA, etc.), auxiliary programs (car allowance reimbursement, freight audit and payment) and supply chain analytics.Detailed Description
Manages at least two supplier relationships including contract negotiation, supplier interaction, and WESCO adoption.
Leads supply chain projects or analysis for the director of transportation in support of business opportunities, sales growth initiatives, and customer proposals.
Functions as backup and trainer for new transportation analysts on administrative and reporting processes.
Assists transportation manager in development, negotiation, and administration of national programs for specific modes, including small package, LTL, private fleet, dedicated, international, courier, truckload, rail, and expedited.
Analyzes and improves mode-specific service and expense metrics.
Creates and maintains daily, weekly, monthly reports for management.
Participates in LEAN initiatives.
Responsible for regulatory compliance branches and distribution centers. Ensures WESCO DOT and Hazmat policies meet specific laws and regulations governing the safe handling, packaging and transportation of materials, and employees trained and documented.
3 years required, 5 years preferred of transportation, logistics or supply chain.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office required, transportation specific preferred)
Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivated
Pertinent federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations
WESCOM, Tandem, general database knowledge preferred.
Employee required to analyze and interpret complex data.
Employee required to problem-solve.
Employee required to communicate with the public.
