Summary:
He/She may manage multiple, simultaneous programs and customers and may lead transition activities across multiple sites. The Transition Program Manager will also serve as the internal and external advocate for our services offerings, working closely with the sales channel and key customers.
The senior program manager is responsible for the execution of customer strategies related to one or more customers including all products/programs from new product introduction through the start of production. He/she is responsible for achieving high customer satisfaction, driving profitable business relationships and providing strong leadership to the customer focus teams to ensure achievement of customer commitme
THIS POSITION IS NOT AN "IT" PROGRAM MANAGER, IT IS IN THE FIELD OF ELECTRONICS MANUFACTURING AND REQUIRES GLOBAL EXPERIENCE COMBINED WITH CURRENT PMP AND BACHELOR'S DEGREE.
Responsibilities:
Manages and leads team activities as primary day-to-day contact for large and/or multiple customers with multiple high level challenges
Leads or assists other team members, as needed, to ensure customer needs and business unit objectives are met
Effectively interacts and coordinates program deliverables with internal new products and manufacturing organizations
Develops knowledge of the customer's product, utilization, strategies and requirements to support launch activity
Interacts with customers at appropriate levels on matters related to schedule, quality, cost and engineering change to achieve highest levels of customer satisfaction and responsiveness to changing business conditions
Generates proposed Statement of Work, including project schedule, deliverables, dependencies and resources, soliciting input from others as necessary
Prepares transition plans; communicate them effectively to the customer with assistance as required.
Leads internal teams to ensure customer expectations for on-time delivery, quality and cost are achieved
Develops and ensures compliance to the project plan (schedule, resource)
Identifies and manages change in customer requirements (all scope change), internal resources
Effectively interacts and coordinates program deliverables with internal new products and manufacturing organizations, seeking guidance and assistance as required
Updates project management tools on a weekly basis to aide in planning of company resources
Identifies the need for quotations supporting new business opportunities and scope changes, as required
Works to develop knowledge of the customer's product, utilization, strategies and requirements to support transition launch activity
Makes resource managers aware of the project needs for technical and business resources to ensure customer needs and business unit objectives are met; Highlight areas of concern
Works to assist other transition team members, as needed, to ensure customers' needs and business unit objectives are met, bringing any issues forward for escalation as required
Works to assist other Benchmark manufacturing support groups, as needed, to understand the requirements of the production environment
Promotes Design for Excellence (DFX) philosophy with customers and internal customer team
Interfaces with customer and supplier engineering groups, as required, to convey technical data and to address transition problems
Leads or participates in continuous improvement activities with complete documentation, including a follow up review with the team in a presentation format
Other information:
Education / Experience:
Bachelor's Degree (Master's degree preferred)
Must hold a Project Management Program (PMP) certification
10+ years of experience in project management or related roles
Experience working for an EMS company or an OEM that utilized EMS capabilities is preferred
Skills:
Very strong writing skills and ability to translate information into project/program documents.
Strong leadership, sales support, project management and training skills.
Should be an expert in forwarding thinking, and should possess problem-solving skills.
Exceptional written, verbal and presentation development skills.
Proficient in the use of, Microsoft Project, other project management tools, and the suite of Microsoft office software
Experience leading projects that require a high-level of detail orientation, working with a diverse blend of project member skills, and tight deadlines
Effective negotiation skills that lead to win-win agreements between OEM and EMS
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and influence individuals, internally and externally, across all levels, functions and geographies
Abilities:
Ability to highlight issues and seek solutions to business and technical issues
Ability to drive solutions to complex planning issues with limited supervision
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing a comprehensive transfer strategy for a product, service, or division of a company.
Demonstrated ability managing multiple product initiatives integrated with an overall transfer strategy.
Ability to gain trust of business leaders and others to discuss and respond to sensitive and business critical issues.
Should be able to develop effective relationships and operate with senior level management.
Ability to listen to intended details attentively.
Proven ability to collect and analyze information and customer product knowledge.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, governmental regulations, and financial reports.
Efficiently work under pressures, deadlines, and stretch extra hours to complete assigned task.

Visits to factory sites and engineering sites requiring travel up to 25% of the time.
