Senior Transaction Coordinator

Job Description Summary

Responsible to provide real estate transaction services on behalf of national retail client(s) including market optimization planning, site identification and selection, LOI and lease negotiation, and renewal services.

Job Description


  • Communicate effectively with all parties involved in the leasing process on behalf of client(s)

  • Negotiate LOI and lease terms on behalf of client(s)

  • Develop and manage relationships with client(s), retailers, banks, restaurants, and other retail users

  • Execute roll-out of multi-store expansion programs including deal negotiation and lease execution

  • Educate and direct local real estate brokers, contractors, and vendors to ensure projects are completed on time

  • Develop critical dates and deadlines for all assignments, maintain transition checklists, communicate deadlines with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders as needed

  • Assist in the preparation of market and demographic information for use in presentations and meetings

  • Ensure and manage the quality and timeliness of transaction information entered into all databases

  • Prepare transaction communication tools and packages for management for internal approval process

  • Process lease extensions, terminations, subleases, and dispositions

  • Perform tasks with minimal supervision


  • Bachelor Degree

  • Minimum of 1+ years of relevant work experience

  • Or any similar combination of education and experience

  • Must obtain and hold state real estate license

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Basic understanding of computer software programs and base building systems

  • Strong financing, budgeting and proforma modeling skills

  • Comprehensive understanding of lease terms, the reconciliation process for Common Area Maintenance, insurance, and real estate taxes

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and reflect a sense of urgency in daily duties by meeting or improving upon deadlines

  • The qualified candidate will be detail oriented, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, extremely professional, and customer service oriented

Physical Requirements

  • Involves work of a general office nature; typically includes extended periods of sitting and/or operation of a computer for up to 8 hours a day

  • May involve periods of standing, such as operating at a copier/fax/scanner

  • Regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to write and type

  • Ability to speak clearly so others can understand you

  • Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented orally and in writing

  • Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing and orally so others will understand

  • Regularly required to utilize vision abilities, allowing reading of printed material, graphics, and computer displays

This team provides insight and expertise to clients related to buying and selling a business. Working with private equity groups and corporations, BKD's team helps execute financial due diligence. Our team works to understand profit drivers and trends, challenge assumptions of future performance and assist with purchase agreements and post-closing transaction matters. * Analyze financial and operational results of companies using accounting information and interviews with management. * Prepare and evaluate pro forma financial information. * Research industry standards and trends, target companies or other information affecting the acquisition for incorporation in diligence communications. * Write and/or review detailed reports regarding due diligence and financial analysis. * Identify diligence issues which may affect purchase price, deal structure or deal termination. * Recommend post-acquisition actions to achieve anticipated earnings/cash flow improvements. * Evaluate effects of seasonality and cyclicality on cash flow requirements. * Work alongside other BKD team members to exceed client expectations. * Work closely with client executives, attorneys, investment bankers, private equity investors or other stakeholders. * Maintain and strengthen relationships with current and prospective clients of the firm. Qualifications Required Skills: * Strong current knowledge in the following: U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), mergers and acquisitions, transaction services * Recent experience with current audit and accounting concepts * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment * Proficiency with Microsoft Office, primarily Excel * Willingness and ability to travel when necessary Required Experience: * Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related area required * 2+ years of experience in one of the following areas with a public accounting firm: accounting, financial audit or transaction experience (experience related to mergers and * acquisitions or due diligence preferred) * CPA license preferred Experience the BKD difference for yourself.
