As a Senior Training and Education Specialist with the Medtronic Global Spine and Biologics group, you will have the responsibility for leading medical education curriculum and content creation for Medical Education and Sales Training across the Spine and Biologics portfolio. Medtronic Spine is part of the Restorative Therapies Group.

Preferred location is Memphis, TN (relocation assistance offered.) Potential for remote arrangement for a top candidate - preference is near a Medtronic site in Minneapolis, MN or Boulder, CO.

A Day in the Life

Content Development & Training Materials

  • Design plan for procedures / products to focus on for curriculum and content design with key internal stakeholder input

  • Partner with KOL Faculty as well as Procedural leads to create educational training materials for new launches

  • Build and implement plan to monitor effectiveness of current curriculum and content

  • Define process for refining existing content while balancing the creation of new curriculum / content

  • Partner on global surgeon focus group strategy to continue evolving our approach to education

  • Lead evaluation / creation and launch unique education formats such as virtual reality, augmented reality, etc.

  • Leverage excellent project management skills to manage multiple projects at various phases

  • Travel requirement: approximately 10-20%

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree and at least 4 years of training, sales, product marketing, medical education or clinical experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years' experience.

Nice to Have

  • Current or previous employment with Medtronic Spine and Biologics or competitive company in marketing, sales training, clinical, or education

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Effective instructional design skills or ability to quickly acquire them

  • Experience in operating room

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Eagerness to learn and expand responsibilities

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong working relationships

The Role The Curriculum Developer will be responsible for executing the strategic direction of department leadership in the development, implementation, and maintenance of training courses targeted to customers, partners, and internal employees. This role with liaise heavily with subject matter experts within the Product, Support, Customer Success, and Professional Services departments. What You'll Do * Work under the direction of the Training Curriculum Manager and assigned SMEs to develop an instructor-led, role-based, course curriculum for the targeted personas. * Design, develop, and maintain course materials across various products and delivery channels including virtual instructor-led and self-paced learning. * Work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in Product Management, Customer Success, Professional Services, and Product Support to ensure training is aligned with business needs. * Enable Product Training team to teach new and existing training courses. * Create validation activities to measure learning attainment of course objectives. * Facilitate courses occasionally Requirements * Bachelor's Degree in Technical Communications, English, Education, Computer Science, Instructional Design or equivalent field. A Master's Degree in Instructional Design or a related field is desirable. * 3+ years experience designing, developing, and maintaining software training programs * Excellent analytical and writing skills with a demonstrated aptitude for creating instructional content for both a technical audience and a business user audience. * Ability to quickly learn industry terminology, processes, and systems * Proven ability to work effectively with subject matter experts and stakeholders * Flexible, collaborative, team-oriented individual who shows initiative and holds themselves accountable. * Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills Nice to Have * Background in Life Sciences and/or Veeva products * Background in the SaaS domain * Graphic design skills Veeva's headquarters is located in the San Francisco Bay Area with offices in more than 15 countries around the world.
