  • Knowledge management and collaboration solutions This initiative is about connecting people to people and people to information.The Knowledge Center supports an internal social networking platform called MIX(Medtronic Information Exchange), where employees can join online communities,share what they are working on, and find out what others are doing and what'shappening with the company. One flagship community, sponsored by the KnowledgeCenter, is Ask Medtronic. It encourages employees to ask and answer questionsfrom across the globe.

A Day in the Life

As a member ofthe Medtronic Knowledge Center team, the SeniorTraining and Education Specialist has responsibility to globally extendestablished programs for Technical Development and Engagement, Library,Knowledge Management, and Collaborations. This role will be positioned at the

Bakken Research Center (BRC) in Maastricht and serve as a strong partner todeliver new opportunities and process improvements that align with KnowledgeCenter strategy and the needs of local regions.

Responsibilitiesmay include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Establish a physical Knowledge Center hub andambassadorship in the BRC to extend Knowledge Center initiatives.

  • Provide logistical support for various events acrossthe globe (e.g. symposia, trainings, workshops, etc). Some travel required.

  • Deliver training to educate EMEA employees about theuse of Knowledge Center tools and resources.

  • Integrate BRC into Knowledge Center's promotional andcommunication channels.

  • Partner with BRC and EMEA stakeholders to promote andcommunicate the regional knowledge, initiatives and capabilities through the

Knowledge Center.

  • Serve as Knowledge Center's global liaison togeographical sites.

  • Support employee information requests and questionsrelated to finding resources across Medtronic, responding to employees andconnecting them to internal experts or external resources.

  • Special projects or initiatives on an ad hoc orongoing basis

Must Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree;

  • 2+ years working in a globalbusiness environment;

  • Experience in organizing orfacilitating training and events

  • Direct experienceinteracting with colleagues in R&D, scientific and engineering organization

  • Demonstrated success workingin multiple cultures and on global teams

  • Multilingual and especiallyfluent in English

  • Experience fostering thedissemination of knowledge and information through a corporate library ortraining environment

  • Demonstrated success workingindependently, utilizing virtual technologies to maintain strongcross-functional team relations

  • Training systems includingvirtual and video technologies

This person will lead and ensure execution on all key elements of the US Off-label program, including developing strategy, leading process improvement activities and conducting Product Risk Assessments and Risk Mitigation plans. They will work closely with key stakeholders including but not limited to Compliance Business Partners, OMA, Finance and other business functions to develop and execute program strategy and risk management activities. This includes working with the business to ensure the resolution of risk mitigation plans. In addition, this person will provide work direction relating to the US Off Label Compliance Specialist. A Day in the Life Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. * Individual contributor who manages with minimal supervision key elements of off-label risk mitigation program for all US products, including: * Oversee review of current Product Risk Assessments (PRAs) * Identify need for and oversee new PRAs * Manage current Risk Mitigation Plans (RMPs) * Identify need for and develop new RMPs * Manage action plans for all RMPs * Serve as Subject Matter Expert and guide on US policy/process related to off-label risk * Provide input to Global OEC and Legal Regulatory on off-label risk mitigation * Collaborate with A&M team to ensure effective monitoring activities to mitigate off-label risk (e.g., live and retro monitoring) * Lead and/or manage large compliance projects or processes regarding off-label risk mitigation, in collaboration with other Compliance, business and functional teams. * Act as the team lead for off-label large compliance projects or processes, including coaching, reviewing, and delegating work to lower level professionals or demonstrate equivalent abilities. * Design modifications to existing compliance programs, processes, standards, training, or risk mitigation activities to mitigate off-label risk based on subject matter expertise; business or compliance objectives; with input from US Compliance or Corporate Compliance senior leadership. * Develop and implement project plans to achieve compliance program objectives relative to off-label risk mitigation, often leveraging and influencing others as part of a cross-functional team. Activities result in a significant impact on compliance program results. * Tangible contribute to defining the direction for new solutions to complex off-label risk mitigation and/or make significant improvements of processes, systems, or products independent to enhance compliance program performance. * Problems and issues faced are difficult, moderately complex, or undefined and may require detailed information gather, analysis, and investigation. * Anticipate and drive necessary off-label risk mitigation strategies, processes and policy changes to account for shifts in the regulatory enforcement environment and/or changes to the business model. * Assist with risk assessment for business initiatives prioritizing compliance issues based on risk profile. When compliance issues are identified, work with business partners to generate new ideas to enable compliance solutions to business objectives. * Provide subject matter expertise for key operational systems, databases, and tools which provide key compliance controls for compliance program. * Provide suggestions, feedback to system administrators on ways to improve the overall end-user experience to enhance compliance controls. * Independently provide strategic and complex guidance as needed to internal functions with moderate financial, reputational, or compliance implications. * Represent function as the primary contact for compliance programs, working with internal and external customers and vendors at various levels. * Independently communicate with senior internal and external customers and vendors regarding business conduct standards and specific compliance risks. * Provide subject matter expertise, leadership, guidance, coaching and training to other employees within the US or Corporate compliance teams or demonstrate equivalent abilities. * Act as the team lead and manage major/compliance projects relative to off-label risk mitigation, involving the delegation of work and review of work product with indirect team members or demonstrates equivalent abilities. * Provide expert knowledge and application of legal/regulatory requirements relative to off-label risk, including AdvaMed and other applicable industry codes and/or guidance across multiple subject matters. * Benchmark with outside companies to determine "best-in-class" processes and incorporate as deemed appropriate. * Project management and/or risk management experience for multiple competing projects and/or programs.
