Tetra Tech is seeking a Senior Trainer/Adult Learning Professional to work in their Cincinnati, OH office. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing a large adult training program under a federal contract.

The position involves working closely with the client to provide strategic advice, market new training curriculum and support services, and provide day-to-day management support. Responsibilities include managing and supervising a team of instructors, technical experts, and graphic designers in the development and delivery of classroom and online (eLearning) training. The successful candidate will manage the training calendar, schedule trainers and individuals, provide technical direction to staff, and guide development and review the content and presentation of individual training courses.

The position also requires the development or review of work plans, budgets, invoices, and other technical and managerial reports. The successful candidate may also serve as a senior instructor in the delivery of certain courses.

At least 8 years of combined technical, training and management experience in the environmental/emergency response field is required. Must have technical experience in addressing hazardous waste issues, with an emphasis on emergency response, removal and/or remedial action at waste sites, or technical field experience related to the training course which he/she teaches.

Training experience should include course design and development and classroom instruction; instructional design certification or experience is desirable.

Management experience should include direct program or project management and personnel supervision.

Experience with e-learning and electronic course delivery preferred. Knowledge or experience applying instructional design elements to training course development is desirable.

Must be able to drive a motor vehicle and pass a motor vehicle records check. Master's degree (or equivalent experience) in science*, engineering, or management. Instructional design. Certifications related to emergency response encouraged.

Generally, the consultant will work in an office environment and use computer and telephone to conduct business. During travel periods, the work environment will vary between an office setting and a field setting for client meetings or drills/exercises.

Drills/exercises may take place in austere conditions or inclement weather. Position may require frequent travel to client locations for course delivery.
