Senior Thermal Engineer

Technip Energies is seeking a Senior Thermal Engineer to join our team in our Claremont, CA office. This position will be reporting directly to the Thermal Supervisor.

PURPOSE

Act as a lead thermal engineer on projects, preparation of technical documents (calculation notes, data sheets, requisitions, etc.) & carry out thermal design of ethylene cracking furnaces and furnace equipment. Potential to expand into design of process heaters & steam methane reformers in the future. Additional responsibilities include support on studies and proposals within the same technology / product line as project related work.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BS Chemical Engineering, plus a minimum of eight years of relevant experience.

• Possess engineering knowledge in heat transfer, thermodynamics and combustion.

• Past experience in the design of Ethylene furnaces is mandatory.

• Past experience in design of deNOx/SCR equipment and CFD modeling is beneficial but not mandatory.

• Capable of working with minimal supervision of a Principal level engineer.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze project specifications; develop design parameters and methodology accordingly.

• Prepare engineering calculations as required.

• Prepare data sheets for ethylene cracking furnaces & adjacent furnace equipment (i.e. venturis, steam drums, Transfer line exchangers) - Required

• Prepare data sheets for deNOx/ SCR equipment and auxiliaries.

• Uphold Technip Energies standards of quality, applicable codes, and industry standards and practices.

• Develop burner test procedures an travel to burner vendor sites for testing.

• Follow-up on completed projects including start-up and performance guarantee test.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology trends.

• Maintain a high professional profile.

• Represent group in staff, vendor and client meetings as necessary.

• Participate in development projects as needed.

Compensation

• Salary Range: $100,000-120,000
