What will you do

Reviews and participates in product and test system design activities, including test specification development and maintenance, and test hardware and software design and implementation.

Participate in integration, validations, and acceptance of test systems to ensure compliance with design and quality criteria and standards.

Utilize electronic lab test equipment, such as Function Generators, LCR meters and Oscilloscopes to debug circuit and system issues.

Operates under minimal supervision, independently determining and developing approach to solutions.

Who we want

BS in Electrical Engineering or other related discipline, or equivalent experience.
5+ years experience in development of test software for a manufacturing environment, using test development tools and languages including C/C++/C# syntax.

Complete understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the field of electrical engineering, including but not limited to power supplies, A/D and D/A converters, battery chargers and monitor circuits, and microcontroller/microprocessors.

Experience in developing test sequencer software architecture and modules such as NI TestStand.

Experience in developing manufacturing test specifications, including interface requirements, test flow and strategy, measurement accuracy, and acceptance criteria.

Experience in validation of test systems, including validation plans, protocols, and reports.

Experience with statistical methods in test (ANOVA, Gage R&R, Capability Analysis, Statistical Process Control).

This position will have the opportunity to influence product design, own a substantial aspect of the build line, and develop processes with line-of-sight to mass production. The ideal candidate will be an experienced engineer who has successfully navigated through the development and execution of beginning-to-end manufacturing processes in support of new electro-optical products, with proven record of quality output, process development, and team building. They are detail-orientated with robust communication skills and comfortable working in a highly visible and highly hands-on problem-solving environment. The candidate will also have a strong ability to communicate to all levels of an organization – from management and higher-level strategy planning to the technicians and leads on a manufacturing floor. With broad product realization experience, the candidate will have experience in one or more of the following topic areas: automation, computer vision, project management, DFX, process development. Responsibilities * Work with the hardware engineering team to understand product design intent and be the driver of manufacturing systems and process integration into a small-scale manufacturing line, with line of sight to high volume production quantities. * Leverage and manage contract design and manufacturing resources to achieve organizational impact. * Leads and informs on problem solving, root cause analysis, and other continuous improvement initiatives, first by setting the example and establishing process, and then by ownership over the area. * Evaluate prospective vendors (CM, Supply Chain) for process and quality capability based on project needs. * Partner with Engineering to define product manufacturing strategy plans based on PRD. * Ability and willingness to travel: up to 25% domestic travel and up to 10% to global locations at later specified project life-cycle periods. Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor of Science in Engineering, or equivalent experience. * 3+ years of experience in a combination of electro-optical device engineering and precision automation in a development environment. * Experience with identifying operational and manufacturing technology risks, developing plans to mitigate and drive issues to closure. * Experience with explaining technical problems with data and analysis and provide feedback and solutions. * Experience with coaching, mentoring, and training others. Preferred Qualifications * Master of Science in Engineering. * 7+ years of experience in a combination of electro-optical device engineering, precision manufacturing in a development environment, and building NPI manufacturing lines. * Experience with one of the following technologies: Camera, Display, Precision Optics and Coatings. * Experience with implementing manufacturing solutions (quality, build, test) for an optic or sensor. * Experience with mentoring other engineers, and building an engineering or manufacturing team, with an understanding of interpersonal relationships and employee growth.
