Internal testing expert to support the successful delivery of projects using both traditional waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies.

Accountable for the development and execution of test plans for multiple assigned projects. Partners with various business customers to understand their testing needs. Manages the testing issues resolution process within a project.

Utilizes standard, repeatable testing processes, tools, and contributes to the adoption of automated testing within the organization.

Essential Functions:

  • Test Execution

o Assumes a leadership role for all aspects of testing within a project.

o Coordinates test execution, including tasks, timeline and resource management between all impacted areas; systems, business analysts, business partners, and vendor.

o Directs, manages, plans and executes the testing activities for all appropriate projects.

o Prepares activity and progress reports for the various tests.

o Ensures that system tests are successfully completed, documented and that issues are tracked and resolved.

  • Test Management

o Contributes to developing, maintaining and enhancing testing standards, guidelines and processes for the organization.

o Assists in building a standard, repeatable library of effective test plans, scripts, templates and test cases.

o Works with business partners to define quality standards, leading and/or conducting testing processes and communicating on the resolution of issues.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical office work environment.


  • Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of training and experience, plus 3 years of related experience.

  • 5 years of hands-on software testing

  • Hands-on experience in creating test plans/test cases/testing templates and tools


  • At least three years' experience in healthcare

  • Familiar with automated testing tools

  • Expert in Microsoft tools


  • Ability to multi task and prioritize department work load

  • Experience with Cognizant QNXT and Cognizant Clinical CareAdvance Applications is a plus

  • Requires Healthcare Claims and Enrollment processing knowledge

  • SQL query building is a plus

  • The ability to work within a team, articulate status and issues

  • Excellent problem solving, interpersonal communication and project management skills a must.

General Overview This Senior Business Analyst is responsible for the analysis, interpretation, trend identification and improvement of operation processes to help meet the goals of the Revenue Cycle Operations (RCO). In addition, this position is responsible for the support of strategic decisions around planning and analytics for all of Revenue Cycle Operations (RCO), functions, accounts receivable management, cash performance and all revenue metrics for Partners Hospitals and affiliates. The RCO departments encompass over 800 FTE's and over $5 billion dollars in cash collections per year. Principal Duties and Responsibilities 1. Assist the Manager of Financial Analysis and Strategy and RCO Directors as an overall analytical expert. 2. Work with the Managers and RCO Directors to develop appropriate reporting metrics and methodologies to promote operational and financial effectiveness. This will include the identification of the approach, reporting tools, metrics etc. 3. Lead key analytical projects at the request of the RCO Directors, and local entity managers. 4. Work with the Directors of Revenue Cycle Departments to create standard reports to monitor financial performance metrics by department at each hospital. 5. Implement innovative reporting techniques to monitor the overall financial health of the institutions. 6. Provide ad-hoc analytic support to department Directors using a variety of tools (e.g., Excel, Access, Epic, Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), Clarity and Mede Analytics). 7. Package and present data for senior finance leadership. 8. Monitor key business planning processes. 9. Prepare key presentations and reports which will include financial and operational analysis. Qualifications 1. Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Healthcare, or related experience required. 2. Minimum of 3 – 7 years related experience, including healthcare, clinical, or revenue cycle systems and report development desired. 3. Strong knowledge of SQL; ability to write complex relational and multidimensional SQL queries and complex stored procedures preferred 4. 3 - 7 years' experience with business intelligence tools: Microsoft BI stack, SAP Business Objects, Crystal Reports, Qlikview, or Tableau is highly preferred. 5. Proficiency with Clarity Tables (HB &/or PB) 6. Epic Certification in multiple data models preferred: Revenue Clarity Data Model(s) 7. Experience with design and creating Cubes and Data Warehousing knowledge is a plus. 8. Experience with Epic Reporting Workbench and Radar is a plus. 9. A combination of education and/or equivalent work experience in Revenue Cycle Operations, Healthcare Finance, Business Administration, Public Health Administration, or other related field may be substituted for requirements. 10. Health Care/Revenue Cycle Operations experience preferred. Skills/Abilities/Competencies 1. Excellent financial management and analytical skills. 2. Understanding of Revenue Cycle reporting, metrics and revenue systems. 3. Technical capacity to learn new data systems and analyze large data sets stored within multiple databases. 4. Must be an expert in Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. 5. Experience or willingness to learn SQL and VBA. 6. Working knowledge of Epic billing system. 7. Very strong writing skills, must be able to present data to directors or higher. 8. Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. 9.
