Zoox is looking for a test engineer to be responsible for building test solutions for manufacturing the compute platform used in our autonomous vehicle. In this role, you will be responsible for the development of tests for critical components of the compute system including server-grade computer assemblies, custom PCIe devices, and other PC components such as storage and memory. You will work cross-functionally with our electrical engineering and software teams to develop and test new products and technologies. In this role, you will:
Build and release test solutions for use on the manufacturing lines at Zoox and at contract manufacturing partners
Develop testing scripts and code to verify functionality, control test instruments, capture test parameters, and analyze results for continuous improvement
Work cross-functionally to implement the correct test coverage across all phases of manufacturing (PCBA, module, system, vehicle)
Release updated test programs for new generations of hardware and software
Support the test and validation of prototype designs
Establish best practices and drive continuous improvement for improving test deployment, test runtime, and yield
Qualifications
BS in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, physics, or equivalent technical degree
8+ years of industry experience or equivalent
Knowledge of manufacturing and testing electronic assemblies
Experience in testing complex electronic assemblies such as server-grade computers and sub-assemblies
Experience with manufacturing tests of PCIe devices such as GPUs, network cards, NVMe drives
Strong knowledge of Python and shell (bash) scripting
Experience with other programming languages such as C++ or C# is beneficial
Experience with the Linux platform - debugging failures using command line tools such as lshw
Bonus Qualifications
MS in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, physics, or equivalent technical degree
Knowledge of automotive protocols such as CAN and hardware interfaces
Experience with high-speed links such as GMSL
Strong expertise in PCIe troubleshooting - especially with GPUs and similar electronic assemblies
Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $155,000 to $255,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
