About the Position
You will develop long term, strategic relationships with key customers and organizations that exercise influence within the field of Telecom. You will report directly to the Senior Manager of Telecom Sales. You will be responsible for sales account development within an established geographic territory for a complex suite of services and robust product sets to drive sales, increase brand awareness, and grow a your territory. You will use pre-existing customer relationships to identify new business opportunities, develop sales plans and engage the necessary internal and external partners to sell value added Telecom solutions and services in markets such as Healthcare, Media, Government and Financial. As a Senior Account Management Advisor, you will provide customer care to complex, influential, politically sensitive clients. You will serve as local customer advocate to ensure customer satisfaction.
Acquire new business within accounts that have not previously or are not currently doing business with SCE Carrier Solutions.
Develop sales in designated target markets by identifying new sales opportunities with prospective customers by cold calling, premise visits, networking, lead generation, proposal submissions, and customer appointments.
Develop and implement sales plans that provide clearly defined strategies, tactics and timeframes to deliver revenue.
Develop customer relationships in order to gain strategic positioning with decision makers, retain existing revenue and obtain additional business.
Dedicated to continuously learning about the Telecom market, including new technologies and selling points, including enhancing expertise in SCE Carrier Solutions products and services.
You will partner with external stakeholders and third parties, (local government, institutional partnerships, highly influential and/or politically involved industry/trade associations) to deliver company programs and activities that serve the needs of key customers.
Actively engage customer affiliated trade associations to strengthen relationship dynamics with key industry sectors.
Develop annual plans for key customer accounts that align with SCE business goals and strategies.
Qualifications you need
Bachelor degree or higher in Marketing, Engineering, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
Seven (7) or more years of sales or account management experience.
Experience with telecommunication transport sales - Dark Fiber, Wavelengths, Ethernet, and DIA.
Experience developing and maintaining positive relationships with internal staff and external customers at all levels, including C-Level executive decision makers, by demonstrating a customer focus based on integrity and trust.
Experience with solution based selling, implementing new methods to identify customer needs and deliver value added solutions.
Experiencing developing and implementing sales plans for services/solutions that have strategic implications for customer organizations.
Self-motivated, dedicated, results-oriented professional with an ability to work with minimum direction.
Experience gathering and leading a team of internal resources to address complex customer account issues.
Experience partnering with external stakeholders/industry groups to build interest in programs/services and generate new business.
Experience participating in the development of strategic plans to address key customer issues. Ability to accurately analyze information, make sound decisions that have moderate to significant business impact and develop and implement strategies.
Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook.
Solid listening skills, interpersonal skills, and experience delivering formal presentations to senior leaders and decision makers.
Effective resource and project planning, decision-making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.
Other qualifications and skills that will set you up for success
Master's degree (MBA or Engineering).
Experience with and knowledge of the wholesale Telecom customer base and infrastructure in the southern California regional market.
Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Relocation does not apply to this position.
The primary work location for this position can be based in either Pomona, CA or downtown Los Angeles, CA business location. However, the successful candidate may be asked to move to an alternate work location, based on business and customer needs.
20% travel may be required for this position.
