JOB SUMMARY:

McCain Foods is seeking a Sr R&D Technician to assist the Food Scientists with research projects, new formulations, pilot plant tests and other duties as they arise.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):

• Supports Food Scientists in developing and preparing new product formulations

• Test new ingredients for cost saving or formula improvement

• Completes experiments, according to standardized SOPS, to meet agreed upon project timeline.

• Ensure R&D documentation is updated timely and accurately

• Assist with preparation for Pilot Plant production runs

• Maintain a safe, clean and organized laboratory environment

• Identifies, selects and evaluates new raw materials.

• Conducts and evaluates sensory testing

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma required plus 5 years of relevant industry experience; BS degree preferred

• Basic computer knowledge

• Strong verbal/written skills

• Ability to work independently, self-started and well as good teamwork skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects

• Ability to work with common allergens

• Ability to interact with customers, suppliers and co-packers

• Ability to interact with all levels of the organization

• Strong ability to maintain

• Attention to detail
