Overview

SENIOR TECHNICAL WRITER/ EDITOR (FS&S)

Bowhead seeks a Senor Technical Writer/Editor to support the Acquisition and Organic Supply Operations Support FS&S contract in Stafford, VA. The Technical Writer/Editor must have expertise in Marine Corps Acquisitions and Logistics and the ability to write and update material for reports, manuals, briefs, instruction books, catalogs and related technical publications. This is a high paced dynamic rewarding work environment supporting multiple acquisition teams.

Responsibilities

• Researches, organizes, writes, edits and produces data for use in a wide variety of complex technical publications requiring in-depth knowledge and understanding of the subject matter and allied fields.

• Recommends overall organization and layout, editorial standards, publication methods and the like.

• Coordinates publication with outside sources and vendors as needed.

• Develops department editing standards and styles.

• May provide work leadership for lower level employees.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or BA/BS plus ten (10) years of technical writing experience

• Experience editing technical paper and publications in a government environment plus knowledge of working with scientific and technical subject matter is preferred.

• Must have experience working as an editor.

• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and TEAMS.

• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 5-10 pounds

• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for a Secret clearance at this location.
