In this salaried, full-time position, you will write and revise processes and operating instructions, Critical to Quality (CTQ) documents, and other project documents that may include diagrams, flow charts, photos, and graphics. We are seeking a detail-oriented individual with exceptional writing and editing abilities, coupled with a deep understanding of technology and the ability to collaborate across various teams.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively and continually perform research, training, and problem-solving on the production floor and in the office environment.

  • Competently utilize the corporate document control library and information systems to maintain, distribute, and update communications to the appropriate parties.

  • Effectively collaborate with management to establish, implement, and maintain documentation requirements, standards, and conditions to ensure a consistent program across various groups.

  • Successfully facilitate and lead projects that require coordination and involvement across multiple departments to develop documentation, instructions, and reports.

  • Actively partner with engineers, operators, customer service, supply chain, and other internal customers to understand process requirements and translate them into process and instruction materials.

  • Actively research manuals, technical specifications, operating experiences, customer requirements, regulations, and industry standards to develop process and operational instructions to meet customer, quality, and efficiency requirements.

  • Continuously review obstacles, constraints, results, and proposed updates to processes and procedures.

  • Profoundly review and edit documentation written by other team members for clarity, consistency, and accuracy.

  • Comprehensively develop and design instructional and information tools for the end user and recommend tactics and reviews to ensure knowledge transfer.

  • Proactively coordinate projects to meet timelines and objectives.

  • Performs other duties as identified.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Expertise in project management that includes but is not limited to organizing, communicating, and presenting projects to both internal and external customers.

  • Competent and proficient with the following: all Microsoft applications and ERP systems.

  • Be able to learn new software as needed.

  • Successful and demonstratable skills to multi-task

  • Be able to implement and manage multiple programs, and/or projects.

  • Create, develop, deliver, and implement well-reasoned recommendations and sound business decisions to Management.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following: Communications, English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in senior technical writing, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in electronics manufacturing.

  • Experience writing procedures for production.

  • Thorough understanding of engineering management basics, including engineering change orders (ECOs), product structures, bills, materials, routings, and configurations.

  • Proficiency with project management tools. (MS Project, SharePoint, FMEA, etc.)

  • Expert-level skills with Microsoft Office products and Adobe Acrobat.

  • Mastery of technical photography and photo editing (Adobe Photoshop).

Work Environment:

  • This position is generally on-site on the engineering and production floor. This is a manufacturing environment.

  • This is a fast-working environment that looks for people with great energy.

  • This position is a full-time salaried position located in our headquarters in Fridley, Minnesota.
