Job Description:

The primary function of this position is to support the development and conduct of AN/SQQ-89 A(V)15 system operational and maintenance training for US Navy ships in support of Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS 5B).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise to analyze and evaluate UnderSea Warfare (USW) equipment training approaches, methodology, techniques, and products to help ensure their effectiveness and efficiency in selection of new and potentially non-traditional technologies, processes and procedures to produce and deliver mission support training materials.

  • Applicant must have technical training development, review, and conduct experience with AN/SQQ-89(V) sonar system equipment, with particular emphasis on A(V)15.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires BS and 4 - 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience (additional experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree).

  • Applicant shall have technical training development, review, and conduct experience with AN/SQQ-89A(V) ACBxx sonar system equipment.

  • At least 12 years of AN/SQQ-89(V) working experience in either Operations or Maintenance.

  • Must have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Operations and Maintenance experience shall include:

  • A thorough understanding of AN/SQQ-89(V) system operations to meet tactical mission requirements (operator, supervisor, and command)

  • System functional segments

  • Sonar tactical equipment

  • System LAN operation and administration

  • Fault Detection / Isolation / Localization

  • Remove and replace procedures

  • This position requires a strategic mindset to be successful.

  • Travel may be required for this position

Responsibilities * Provide Program Management, Technical, and Engineering support to the Navy Fleet. In this role the contractor shall work with engineering groups and Technical Warrant Holders to review and analyze related documents, respond to queries and recommend course of action and address various fleet related and In-Service concerns and issues. * Program Management, Technical, and Engineering support * Provide Program Management and Technical Support to Engineering Policy & Standards, and Industrial Engineering In-Service Engineering and System Safety Division. * Provide program management support for Affordability Initiatives. Establish and utilize tracking tools to support program measures to support and track initiatives. * Provide support for development and revision of General Specifications for Overhaul (GSO) * Assist in development of Technical Authority training for waterfront & feedback items, and assist with TDMER completion support * Provide program management and administrative support for the Waterfront CHENG conference including action item consolidation and tracking, developing agendas, soliciting presentations and coordinating schedules. Assist in development of After Conference Reports, minutes and action item updates. * Provide program management and technical support in the following areas: Class Maintenance Planning and Engineering, Life-Cycle Sustainment Planning (LCSP) and Life-Cycle Maintenance Planning (LCMP) engineering and support, Preventative Maintenance Systems Engineering, Reliability Centered Maintenance Engineering, and Condition Based Maintenance Engineering. * Assist the Command Counterfeit Material IPT SEA05 Representative by attending meetings, action item tracking and follow up. * Provide services and activities to include developing briefings, attending meetings, drafting white papers, drafting instructions, drafting metrics scorecards, and establish and utilize tracking tools to support program measures to support fleet readiness. Provide services to support improvements to technical specification, developing maintenance documentation updates and procedures to improve ship operations and ship and crew safety. Prepare reports on program requirements, progress, and issues; and issue mitigation recommendations. Provide program support for reviews, conferences, offsite presentations, facilitate working group meetings, IPTs, Flag briefings, other meetings, and tracking and facilitating action item resolution. Qualifications Required: * Shipyard Apprentice School Certificate. * 20 years experience in systems engineering involving U.S. Navy ship maintenance, working with industrial activities and with NAVSEA Technical Authority. * Must have experience in development and review of technical work documents, ensuring their technical accuracy and compliance with NAVSEA processes, scheduling, allocation of resources, and job execution. * Must have experience in development, issuance, and tracking of waivers and DFS, providing documentation of nonconformance to NAVSEA. * Must have detailed understanding of NAVSEA Technical Policies and the relationships between NAVSEA standard items, new construction ship specifications, General Specifications for Overhaul of Surface Ships (GSO), and the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual * One must have good written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
