Senior Technical Project Manager

The University of Virginia's ITS Custom Applications & Consulting Services (CACS) seeks applications for a Senior Technical Project Manager in support of efforts related to the newly formed Digital Technology Core (DTC). The Technical Project Manager will work closely with CACS developers, customers, and DTC Stakeholders in the development of Mobile, Web and cloud-based technology solutions for research related efforts.

Responsibilities:

• Work with Project stakeholders to capture project requirements, timelines, and budgets.

• Lead the execution of projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

• Manage cross-functional technical resources and available funding sources during the execution of projects.

• Identify and mitigate risks proactively throughout the project lifecycle.

• Monitor project progress and communicate updates to stakeholders regularly.

• Facilitation of project meetings and project communications

• This role will be an active part of an agile project team delivering software and services to the stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma and at least 5 years of relevant experience.

• Exceptional communication skills

• Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira, Trello or Azure Devops.

• Customer service mindset

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with remote team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

• PMP, PMI-ACP and Scrum certified.

• Experience with Agile development practices and project management methodologies.

• Familiarity with Open-source technologies and tools

• Experience working in an academic research environment

• Technical experience with web and mobile based technologies and development tools

Anticipated hiring range: $100,000 - $120,000

This is a 3 year term limited position
