We are seeking an innovative individual with an enthusiastic, hard-working, technology mind-set to work well with a team developing solutions to drive engagement and dedication within our existing cardmember base and attract new customers to the AMEX brand. Collaborate with technology teams to ensure the quality delivery of applications and infrastructure components. The role will collaborate closely with business partners, Project Managers, Technical Engineers, Architects and Leadership, to ensure completeness and efficiency of solutions while ensuring alignment to standards.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Drive coordinated teams, driving technology solutions in support of key product initiatives by working closely with product owners, architects, engineers, and quality assurance.

  • Partner with Business and Product Management team(s) to develop viable roadmaps for platforms and capabilities within a portfolio to ensure that the full potential of a product can be realized.

  • Coordinate execution of development projects from initiation through release, using SDLC methodologies and Agile/Scrum concepts.

  • Work within and across business units to prioritize, plan, and complete the development schedule for major product releases.

  • Manage and oversee team velocity, financials, and other critical metrics in relation to the plan and published progress reports.

  • Maintain dependency plan between planned sprints across engineering, infrastructure, and third parties.

  • Handle and raise as appropriate delivery impediments, risks, issues, and changes tied to the product development initiatives.

  • May perform hands on reviews of product backlog, designs, code, test scripts and results in addressing delivery impediments or product quality issues.

  • Track iteration progress, contribute to design discussions and issue resolution, and remove obstacles to ensure iteration commitments are met.

  • Provide executive level updates at the program level to key leaders to showcase the health of the overall program and demonstrates a willingness to lead teams to sustainable solutions that scale appropriately within the enterprise.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical discipline, or equivalent work experience, is preferred.

  • 6+ years of technical project management experience.

  • Demonstrated understanding of all aspects of software design with a demonstrated track record of increasing responsibility.

  • Ability to collaborate across teams and able to build and leverage strong working relationships and bring different opinions to consensus.

  • Experience managing multiple initiatives, priorities, and teams.

  • Understanding of the full life cycle of product development, from concept to delivery.

  • Experience in clarifying objectives, dealing with ambiguity/under-defined problems, advocating for simplification, and influencing teams.

  • Ability to manage the post-production processes, drive quality, and implement testing best practices.

  • Excellent oral and written interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing cross-functional stakeholders and senior leaders.

  • Technical problem solving and issue-resolution abilities.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management process, project management software tools, templates, and management techniques.

  • Proven ability to manage change in a dynamic environment and influence others without direct authority.

  • Experience managing Agile, Scrum, or other rapid application development teams to deliver technology solutions on that meet customer expectations for timeliness and quality.

  • Experience managing project budgets and reporting while ensuring compliance with Rally and Agile delivery platform.

  • Demonstrated willingness to learn new technologies.

  • Experience with object-oriented design and coding skills across a variety of platforms (Java, React, Vert.x, Spring, Spark, Postgres, Ignite, Restful APIs, Redis, Kafka) is a plus.

  • Experience with payments technology and industry is a plus.

  • PMI Certification is a plus.

  • Scrum Master Certification is a plus.

Salary Range: $110,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
