Senior Technical Program Manager, Amazon

DESCRIPTION

Amazon Enterprise Engineering team is working on redefining the end-user compute devices management with Amazon Unified Endpoint Management (UEM). This is an initiative to manage corporate, personal, and virtual devices running Windows, macOS, Ubuntu, Android, iOS and FireOS platforms from a single management console. We are seeking an experienced Sr. Technical Program Manager (TPM) to help define, build, and deliver the next generation of device management platform and software services that enable Amazon organizations to globally manage their fleet of devices enforcing security. You will influence Amazon's information security strategy, and you will work with and learn from senior Amazon security leaders to meet a high security bar.

This is a role for a dynamic leader with a strong technical background in program management and software development. You will help define and own the execution of high-visibility software, you will build and implement a strategy to meet critical Amazon business and security needs, and you will provide regular updates to senior Amazon leaders. This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position, and you'll work with thought leaders in multiple technology areas. You'll have high standards for yourself and everyone you work with, and you'll be constantly looking for ways to improve your product's performance, quality, and end-user experience.

Key job responsibilities

• Methodically sort through project plans to ensure technical strategy is sensible, timelines and commitments are firm, and path to deliver is clear

• Partner with key OS vendors to build MDM capabilities

• Collaborate with groups of experts and cross-functional colleagues in an agile environment

• Communicate effectively across job families, as well as up and down the hierarchy of leadership and builders

• Look around corners, surface and work to mitigate risk to project delivery. Deliver results despite working in an ambiguous environment

• Be a technical problem solver on the team, identifying innovative solutions to project deadlocks and resolving issues and constraints based on data-informed judgement decisions

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

• 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

• 3+ years of software development experience

• 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

• Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

• Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

• Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
