VIEW JOBS 1/16/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-16T00:00 Overview Position ID#1009 Responsibilities * In the absences of manager, evaluates performance of all interventional staff, and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization's policies and procedures. * Plans, assigns, reviews and evaluates work of interventional radiology staff, prepares and adjusts staff schedules based on departmental needs while maintaining adequate staffing and an equitable distribution of assignments. * Collaborates with respective modalities and medical personnel to coordinate care with other departments and ensures proper utilization of equipment, supplies, and facilities for maintaining patient care. Monitors clinical management of patient care delivery area to produce quality patient care with optimal outcomes * Assists manager in resolving technical, operational, system and other related issues on a timely basis. Takes appropriate corrective action when needed. * Adapts to rapidly changing situations to maintain smooth and efficient departmental operation and Identifies situations that require immediate intervention and uses proper resources and procedures to manage while keeping manager informed. * Demonstrates effective communication skills and assists in resolution of conflict among healthcare team members, patients and families. Keeps manager informed of unit activity needs and problems. * Evaluates workflow processes and makes necessary adjustments to ensure acceptable patient flow and procedural room turnover for all routine and stat cases. Monitors unit activities and collaborates with staff in identification of needed resources to ensure optimal patient flow/ outcomes. * In conjunction with Interventional Nurse-Lead, maintain adequate inventory, patient care supplies, and equipment ensuring that adequate levels are on hand and there by avoids interruption of services. Keep open communication with vendors, follows CH policy, and works with manager, IR Director, Div Director, and CH supply chain to establish pricing, inventory options, and introduction of new/ replacement products. * In the absence of manager, communicates with Capital Health (CH) administrative, medical, nursing and other staff effectively to ensure proper coordination and understanding of services. Enforces and follows established CH and departmental policies, practices, and procedures. * Evaluates and enforces proper infection control practices to ensure safety of patients and staff while in interventional radiology department. * Provides input to manager in completing annual performance evaluations, action plans, staff performance issues and formal discipline. * Provides routine staff education and in-servicing when appropriate. * Demonstrates ongoing commitment to professional development. Demonstrates competence in applicable professional skills and participates in continuing professional development. * Works with manager to develop, monitor and maintain unit specific PI projects and actively engages staff participation in ongoing departmental PI projects. * Collaborates with Billing department, Interventional Nurse-Lead, and manager to ensure all billing, CDM, and ICD codes are up to date. Requirements * Graduation from accredited school of radiological technology. ARRT registered. Associates Degree required. * Three years experience as a Interventional Radiology Technologist with extensive knowledge in radiology techniques,processes, quality control, radiation safety, PAC's, HIM, and procedure billing. * Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to create and implement processes and procedures; thorough knowledge and understanding of Interventiona radiology procedures; and exceptional interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service and problem solving. * CVIR certification or commitment to obtian within 2 years of hire. * Frequent physical demands include: Sitting , Standing , Walking , Reaching overhead , Wrist position deviation , Pinching/fine motor activities Occasional physical demands include: Climbing (e.g., stairs or ladders) , Squat/kneel/crawl , Taste or Smell Continuous physical demands include: Carry objects , Push/Pull , Twisting , Bending , Reaching forward , Keyboard use/repetitive motion , Talk or Hear Lifting Floor to Waist 50 lbs.
