As part of a diverse and hardworking team of Technical Designers you will:

  • Perform design and maintenance of structural product definition by preparing design layouts and drawings, modifying existing designs and resolving design discrepancies. Coordinate fabrication, installation, and commissioning of new or modified systems at any Blue Origin site.

  • Build models and drawings of designs

  • Provide guidance on schedule and technical requirements to internal customers

  • Application of relevant company, industry (design, drafting, parts) techniques to plan, lay-out, and maintain data depicting engineering designs (detail, assembly and installation drawings or datasets)

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with ProEngineer /Creo with Windchill and ProPiping

  • Knowledge of ASME B31.1 and B31.3

  • Experience creating fabrication and installation drawings using ProE/Creo

  • Experience in design and analysis of piping/tubing systems, experience using analysis tools specific to piping (CAEPipe, Bentley AutoPipe, CEASAR,etc)

  • Knowledge of standard components, installation and fabrication methods of piping systems (pipe stock, fittings, connections, valves, fasteners, structural members, fitting, welding, etc)

  • Knowledge of fluid components typical in tubing and piping systems (valves, regulators, pumps, etc)

  • Experience with ASME Y14.100, Y14.5, Y14.41

  • Familiar with existing applicable drafting standards

  • Experience managing large CAD assemblies and associated drawings

  • Passion for our mission: Millions of people living and working in space!

Desired:

  • 5-7 years or greater proven experience

  • Experience with Autocad or Autocad P&ID, Bentley AutoPipe

  • Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance preferred

  • Knowledge of precision cleaning processes / levels and passivation of stainless steel

  • Experience with a PDM version control database

Your Opportunity Your role as Senior Urban Planner/Designer - Senior Project Manager is to continue Stantec's growth & success by collaborating with the vast resources of our global company to provide operational, technical and people leadership to the Planning & Urban Design team in one or more of the three regional markets in Texas, namely Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), Houston-Galveston or Austin-Central Texas. Your role will include leading project teams and managing projects related to Planning & Urban Design, including but not limited to citywide and area-based comprehensive plans, strategic policy plans, corridor plans, site-specific master plans, and zoning or other development-related regulatory work for clients ranging from municipalities and other public agencies to private institutional or developer clients. You will play a pivotal role in expanding our existing client and project base to position the firm to acquire new business. Your Key Responsibilities * Lead urban planning and design within one of three Texas markets - the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) region, the Houston-Galveston region, or the Central Texas-Austin region. * Lead and coordinate business development efforts within one of the three potential Texas markets mentioned above and surrounding area, including market research, client relationships, developing leads, and securing contracts. * Create comprehensive plans, strategic plans and master plans and consult on planning policy to support sustainable communities and urban places. * Manage zoning changes, thoroughfare plan amendments and other development-related regulatory approvals on behalf of private clients, as well as zoning amendments and potential on-call development review work on behalf of municipalities. * Organize and supervise the work of a technical team to plan, design, facilitate inclusive community engagement and help implement municipal plans and urban development projects and provide direction to guide projects to successful completion. * Perform project management duties, including client and sub-consultant coordination, making presentations to planning commissions, zoning boards, municipal officials and public agencies, attending client meeting, and visiting job sites. * Maintain project budgets, prepare estimates, establish cost controls, maintain project schedules and quality control, and prepare monthly billing. * Prepare project proposals and attend pre- and post-proposal meetings/interviews. * Coach and develop team members to achieve high standards in meeting organizational goals. * Attract, grow, and retain high-quality staff, in collaboration with the HR Business Partner, local and Business Center leadership. * Ensure proper staffing of all projects including hiring, staff transitions, and labor sharing, in collaboration with local and Business Center leadership. * Establish, nurture and support cross-discipline processes, communication and best practices, in collaboration with local and Business Center leadership. * Work with Business Center (BC) Leadership to identify BC priorities and strategic opportunities in the geographic market. * Collaborate with the Business Center and other Regional/Team Leaders in the area location to gather feedback and ensure that the integrated planning/design process delivers high quality results, making course corrections when necessary. * Collaborate in developing components of the annual BC Operating Budget related to the local area market. * Collaborate with local area leadership to ensure the office meets its operation goals and adheres to the Project Management framework. Qualifications Your Capabilities and Credentials * Track record of establishing and maintaining client relationships in one of the Texas market areas identified above is highly desired. * Strong ability to develop business and promote business relationships. * Excellent organization, coordination, management and leadership skills. * Strong ability to motivate staff and promote teamwork within and across offices. * Technical expertise in one or more of the following project types: comprehensive plans, mobility/complete streets plans, Transit Oriented Development (TOD) plans, resilience/sustainability plans, housing and economic development plans, open space/recreation plans, cultural resource plans, or large-scale site master plans. * Demonstrated technical leadership in one or more of the disciplines of Community Development (Urban Planning/Design, Transportation Planning, Landscape Architecture) * Results oriented individual who excels in a multi-disciplinary environment * Strong project planning and delivery experience * Excellent verbal and written communication * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant GIS software * AICP and/or other certifications from allied professions (ASLA, AIA, CNU-A, LEED-ND, etc.) preferred. * Must have valid driver's license and good driving record Education and Experience * Minimum of 8 years (more experience preferred) of project management experience, including ability to organize and supervise the work of other planners, urban designers and sub-consultants, and substantial demonstrable experience on completed projects. * Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Urban and Regional Planning, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, or related field or equivalent work experience.
