Job Description Summary:

Under limited supervision, develop high level design and detailed design deliverables including designs for technical architecture and system Interfaces to meet business requirements/specifications for large projects. Code and unit test. Develop or contribute to deliverables for additional levels of testing and support test execution including system level and integration tests. Frequently leads large projects. Resolve production problems of medium to high complexity. Provides guidance to those in less senior positions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or related field and/or equivalent formal training or work experience. Requires five (5) or more years qualifying work experience in information technology or engineering environment. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements.

Job Specific Information:

  • Provide leadership at the enterprise level for Reliability Engineering.

  • Serve as an expert resource to advise other teams and recommend solutions to manufacture reliability into their applications and processes.

  • Own and Improve quality & effectiveness of Reliability Best Practices.

  • Maintain repository of best practices, resources, standard tools and techniques

  • Lead and/or assist in resolution of complex production problems.

  • Mentor development of those in less senior positions.

  • Participation in Reliability Governance Meetings

  • Advisor/Broker on customer or brand impacting activity

Skills/Knowledge Considered a Plus:

  • Experience in the application implementation of defensive coding practices

  • Strong deductive reasoning and debugging skills

  • Strong communication, leadership and teamwork skills

  • Project Development leadership, architecture, design, code, & system knowledge

  • Java/J2EE Application Development, Client and Server

  • Performance tuning with J2EE (WebLogic specifically)

  • Unix OS & Shell programming

  • Programming and tuning knowledge of SQL

  • Familiarity with CI/CD planning

  • Oracle DB
