Senior Technical Advisor

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Technology Advisor to lead our Digital Engineering, Data Science, and Information Technology (IT) Infrastructure efforts within our rapid prototyping programs. This is a pivotal role that requires a unique blend of technical expertise, strategic vision, and leadership capabilities.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of cutting-edge digital engineering solutions, advanced data science initiatives, and complex information technology architectures. A strong understanding of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, and Intelligence C5I and operations within the Department of Defense (DoD) and U.S. military is essential for this role.

Clearance Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen.

Must have an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance or be able to obtain one.

Work Schedule:

Full -time (40 hours a week) 8-4pm EST.

Location:

Remote anywhere in the U.S. (remote job). Must travel to secure locations when working on classified efforts.

Travel Required

30% or less.

Leadership & Strategy:

Develop and execute strategic plans for the rapid prototyping efforts aligned to Digital Engineering, Data Science, and IT Infrastructure departments.

Lead, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of engineers, data scientists, and IT infrastructure professionals.

Identify opportunities for innovation and technological advancement, leveraging new tools and technologies to drive business growth and competitive advantage.

Evaluate new technologies, platforms, and solutions to assess their suitability for adoption within the organization, considering factors such as scalability, security, and ROI.

Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration.

Digital Engineering:

Oversee the development of scalable and efficient digital engineering solutions.

Ensure alignment of engineering projects with business goals and customer needs.

Implement best practices in software development, DevOps, and system integration.

Lead the exploration and adoption of emerging technologies to enhance digital engineering capabilities.

Stay abreast of industry trends, market developments, and emerging technologies, providing timely insights and recommendations to inform strategic decision-making.

Data Science:

Drive the data science strategy to leverage big data, machine learning, and AI for business insights and decision-making.

Manage the end-to-end data lifecycle, from data collection and storage to analysis and visualization.

Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data-driven opportunities and deliver actionable insights.

Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with relevant regulations.

Stay abreast of industry trends, market developments, and emerging technologies, providing timely insights and recommendations to inform strategic decision-making.

IT Infrastructure Management:

Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of the company's IT infrastructure.

Oversee the implementation and maintenance of cloud-based and on-premises systems.

Implement robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Optimize infrastructure costs while maintaining high levels of performance and availability.

Stay abreast of industry trends, market developments, and emerging technologies, providing timely insights and recommendations to inform strategic decision-making.

Military Networks & Operations:

Understand and integrate Department of Defense Information Networks (DODIN) network protocols, standards, and security requirements into engineering solutions.

Ensure compliance with military operational standards and guidelines.

Collaborate with military stakeholders to ensure solutions meet operational needs and enhance mission capabilities.

Project Management:

Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to budget.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones and objectives.

Implement effective project management methodologies and tools.

Track and report on project progress, risks, and issues to senior leadership.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.

Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.

Solicit feedback and continuously improve processes based on stakeholder input.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in digital engineering, data science, or IT infrastructure management.

Proven track record of leading and managing high-performing technical teams.

Experience in developing and implementing strategic initiatives in a complex organization.

Demonstrated success in driving innovation and digital transformation initiatives.

Experience working with military networks and understanding of military operations.

Experience working with cybersecurity teams.

Technical Skills:

Deep expertise in a wide range of technologies, including but not limited to cloud computing, cybersecurity, and emerging trends such as artificial intelligence.

Expertise in communication transport technologies to include Satellite Communications (SATCOM), Radio Frequency (RF), and terrestrial transport mediums (copper, fiber).

Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Strong understanding of network cybersecurity and requirements for system authorizations.

Expertise in data analytics tools and platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Tableau).

Solid knowledge of IT network and security protocols.

Familiarity with modern infrastructure technologies such as containerization, microservices, and server less computing.

Knowledge of military network protocols and security standards.

Soft Skills:

Excellent leadership and team management skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex technology issues and develop innovative solutions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
