What Impact You Will Have:
You will participate as an integral part of the accounting team during the month end close process by providing assistance with all monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated external financial reporting and revenue assurance, helping to ensure that all financial statements are prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Also, you will assist in providing technical guidance for complex accounting and reporting matters. Additionally, you will be responsible for certain corporate accounting areas, such as fixed assets, project capitalization, intangibles, debt, and payroll. You will manage a staff that will assist you with recording transactions and reconciling accounts related to these areas to ensure that the financials are accurate and complete.
A Day in the Life:
Assist with managing monthly, quarterly and annual closes and consolidated external reporting
Review and confirm appropriate revenue recognition for complex transactions
Record transactions and prepare accounting reconciliations for corporate debt, fixed assets, intangibles, project capitalization, and payroll
Assist in providing subject matter expertise for complex accounting issues and provide technical guidance where needed
Assist with the impact assessment and implementation of ASC 606
Participate in the ongoing development / modification of accounting policies and procedures for areas of responsibility that streamline the accounting processes
Collaborate with management, corporate accounting department personnel, cross functional teams, and international finance teams on general ledger accounting issues
Develop and mentor direct reports preparing them to accept roles of increasing responsibility
Proactively identify and implement process improvements, leveraging technology to its fullest potential
Provide outstanding customer service to internal and external customers
Contribute to audit support by providing requested documentation and analysis on a timely basis
Perform other duties, special projects, and/or provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis, as requested
What You'll Need:
Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Accounting required
Public Accounting experience preferred
CPA certification strongly preferred
Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting work experience
Strong foundation in general accounting, monthly close, financial reporting, and US GAAP concepts
Prior experience managing staff
Desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
Experience working within a general ledger system; NetSuite experience preferred
Demonstrate the ability to gather and communicate data logically, accurately, and concisely
Ability to proficiently use of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Outlook, and advanced Excel skills
Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently with ease and take ownership of assigned tasks or projects
