The Senior Tax Associate is part of the Tax Planning team located at Northrop Grumman's corporate office in Falls Church, Virginia. The Senior Tax Associate will be part of the Tax Planning function. The Tax Planning function is responsible for the key drivers that contribute to the Company's overall Effective Tax Rate and Cash Tax Savings.

The Senior Tax Associate will be responsible for applying tax knowledge and experience to prepare and review work papers and specific tax forms, including obtaining and analyzing source data, understanding tax issues, recognizing, and communicating potential risks and communicating effectively with stakeholders. The Senior Tax Associate will be additionally be responsible for leading projects, reviewing work, contributing new concepts, techniques and standards. Most assignments are complex and performed independently without appreciable direction.

Position Summary/Responsibilities for level 3/ Principal:

  • Assist in preparing the company's federal and state(s) research and development tax credit and foreign derived intangible income deduction according to the prescribed laws and regulations.

  • Assist the provision team by providing them research and development tax credit and foreign derived intangible income deduction on a quarterly basis for financial statement purposes, along with FIN 48 analysis and calculations.

  • Assist preparing the research and development tax credit and foreign derived intangible income deduction for the company's annual operating plan.

  • Assists the federal and state controversy teams to support the federal and state research and development tax credits and foreign derived intangible income deductions claimed.

  • Assist with researching tax technical issues and prepare modeling for various tax planning ideas, including any accounting method changes.

Position Summary/Responsibilities for level 4/ Sr. Principal:

  • Prepare the company's federal and state(s) research and development tax credit and foreign derived intangible income deduction according to the prescribed laws and regulations.

  • Prepare input from tax planning team for the provision team; the input is primarily calculations on research and development tax credit and foreign derived intangible income deduction on a quarterly basis for financial statement purposes, along with FIN 48 analysis and calculations.

  • Prepare the research and development tax credit and foreign derived intangible income deduction as an input from the tax planning team for the company's annual operating plan.

  • Work with the federal and state controversy teams to support the federal and state audits by drafting responses to Information Document Requests relating to research and development tax credits and foreign derived intangible income deductions claimed.

  • Perform tax research and draft tax research memoranda documenting tax technical issues and conclusions

  • Prepare modeling and quantitative analysis for various tax planning ideas, including any accounting method changes

  • Coordinate special projects with corporate and sector personnel

Basic Qualifications at a level 3/ Principal:

  • Bachelor degree (Master's degree or CPA may be traded for 2 years of experience. Both may be traded for a total of 3 years)

  • 6 years of experience at a nationally recognized public accounting firm in the areas of responsibility with Bachelors

  • 4 years of experience in the areas of responsibility with a Master's degree in Tax or Accounting

  • Strong analytical and tax technical skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Familiar with using software like SAP, HFM, or business warehouse

Basic Qualifications at a level 4/ Sr. Principal:

  • Bachelor degree (Master's degree or CPA may be traded for 2 years of experience. Both may be traded for a total of 3 years)

  • 10 years of experience at a nationally recognized public accounting firm in the areas of responsibility with Bachelors

  • 8 years of experience in the areas of responsibility with a Master's degree in Tax or Accounting

  • Strong analytical, verbal communication and tax technical skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Familiar with using software like SAP, HFM, or business warehouse

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA and BA or MA in accounting preferred, but not a must

  • Proficient with CorpTax, software SAP, HFM, and business warehouse

To support its ambitious strategic plan, PAE is seeking a highly qualified senior finance associate (Treasury Analyst). The position reports to the Treasurer. Essential Job Duties: * Analyze and manage daily liquidity to support complex operating units with diverse working capital requirements. * Collect, consolidate and report the short-term and long-term cash flow forecasts to stakeholders, including executive management. Also: * Investigate and report on variances * Challenge the status quo * Coordinate with the operating units to provide guidance on best practices to ensure consistent cash management processes across the enterprise. * Work with banking partners to implement the highest levels of cash management security/controls consistent with approved PAE polices & procedures. * Initiate wires and Automated Clearing House payments ("ACH") for corporate related activity pursuant to internal procedures. * Minimize interest paid on debt by working with the operating units to minimize DSO and actively managing credit facility utilization. * Assist with the management of the corporate banking relationships: * Collaborate with operating units to implement banking solutions for cash collections (EFT and paper checks) and disbursements (both AP and Payroll) * Provide wire and banking support to all of the AP and operating units throughout PAE. This involves wire processing, interbank cash sweeps to resolve intercompany balances and leading security administration for banking platforms. * Actively work with other departments in finance to seek solutions benefitting the entire organization. * Other tasks and ad-hoc analyses as may be assigned by Treasurer including, but not limited to, debt issuance, M&A activity, integration of acquisitions, modeling cash flows, risk management, etc. Minimum Requirements: * A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or economics (required). * Master's degree and/or CPA (preferred). * Government contracting experience (strongly preferred). * Proficiency using Microsoft Office products and Cognos report writing (preferred). * Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (required). * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at any given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities, schedules and budgets (required).
