Responsibilities

The Senior Tax Analyst will support the Corporate Tax Function in all aspects of income tax for a rapidly growing global manufacturer and this role will support tax activities for both Filtration Group and Madison Industries. Primary responsibilities will be the preparation of domestic tax provisions, managing estimated tax payments, deferred tax reconciliations, tax software maintenance and managing correspondence with taxing authorities. The position will also support tax planning initiatives and special projects.

Ideal candidate should be interested in working in multiple areas of tax and be willing to take ownership of projects/process from design to completion. Looking for candidates who can work independently and have a desire to learn and grow with the Company. This role will be located in the corporate headquarters in Oak Brook, IL and will report to the Tax Director. Minimal travel needed less than 10%.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the U.S. federal and state and local income tax return process with outside firm, including coordinating with business units to gather data, processing tax packages, and performing supporting tax calculations

  • Prepare quarterly estimated federal and state tax calculations; coordinate with Treasury on tax payment process

  • Assist the tax team in the preparation of annual tax provision (ASC 740) calculations using OneSource tax software and supporting excel schedules

  • Work with manager/director to prepare the Company's computations US international tax projections on a quarterly and year-end basis, including GILTI, FDII, foreign tax credit, and expense apportionment

  • Support special tax projects including transfer pricing, research and development studies, accounting method reviews, nexus studies, and other technical research.

  • Research and document tax issues to serve in an advisory capacity to business units

  • Identify and assist with the implementation of process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency in the tax compliance and provision areas

  • Support tax manager/director in managing federal and state exams and notice responses

Qualifications

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Qualified candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; CPA or MST, preferred

  • At least two years of tax experience (public or corporate)

  • Basic knowledge of ASC 740 Accounting for Income Taxes

  • Strong overall technology skills and proficiency in Excel; familiarity with OneSource tax provision preferred

  • Ability to identify, develop, and implement process improvement

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills

  • Adept at communicating effectively with people from across multiple countries and cultures

  • Proven flexible team player who can prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines

  • Ability to effectively function with independent responsibilities

  • Ability to demonstrate a bias for action
