Job Description Job Description Summary: We are an established South Florida public accounting firm looking for an experienced Senior Tax Accountant with a minimum of three years of tax and accounting experience to join our team of professionals.
We are looking for someone with the ability to flourish in a fast-paced, complex environment, that demonstrates a willingness and ability to adapt to new circumstances, information and challenges. As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will prepare complex tax returns, perform tax research and tax planning under a manager/supervisor with minimal assistance, provide work direction and technical guidance to less experienced staff and contact clients to resolve tax matters. Qualifications: Displays technical proficiency in tax preparation and assembly of related documentation.
Experience with the preparation of international tax forms and disclosures. Demonstrates a working knowledge of tax law including the ability to perform tax research and to prepare technical memorandums, as required. Provides first level review of simple tax returns.
Interfaces with taxing authorities and assists with gathering the information for federal, state and local tax audits. Strong organization and follow-up skills. Provides training assistance and constructive feedback to staff members.
Demonstrates ability to develop good relationships with clients and aim to exceed their expectations. Self-motivated individual with good multi-tasking skills. Team player with desire to be an active participant within the organization.
Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills that are clear and concise. Proficient in MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and use of internet resources. Experience with QuickBooks, ProSystem Engagement, ProSystem fx Tax, and CCH Intelliconnect, a plus.
CPA, preferred. If not currently licensed, working towards CPA. English language proficient with the ability to read, analyze and interpret general business documentation and to write routine business correspondence.
Spanish proficiency, a plus. Work Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in the field of accounting, Master’s Degree preferred.
Occasional overtime work required throughout the year. Heavy overtime work required from January 15 to April 15 and August 15 to October 15 that may be in excess of 50 hours per week. Benefits: Flexible work schedule.
