In this role, you will
Develop and maintain test strategies, plans, and procedures for system-level testing of the Aurora Driver
Implement diverse testing methods including simulation, Hardware-In-Loop (HIL), track, and road testing in support of autonomy development and system verification and validation
Execute tests, analyze results, and identify defects or anomalies in system behavior
Work closely with development teams to investigate root causes and drive resolution of issues
Provide frequent, simple, and clear written and verbal communication of complex ideas to external teams, peers, and stakeholders
Design, develop, execute, and train others in processes that embody test engineering best practice
Required Qualifications
BS degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or another relevant engineering field
5+ years of highly relevant industry experience
Proven experience in test and evaluation of complex systems
Experience with test methods, tools, and frameworks
Ability to synthesize data into meaningful information to support decision making
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Desirable Qualifications
Experience testing highly-reliable and scalable products
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g. Python, bash) with an emphasis around data management for test reports
Previous experience with autonomous systems (particularly automotive-based)
Proficiency in JAMA for requirements management and testing
Knowledge of automotive safety standards (e.g. ISO 26262, SOTIF) and familiarity with regulatory requirements for autonomous vehicles
Leverage prior experience with sophisticated, mission-critical hardware and/or software within automotive or another industry (e.g., aerospace, defense, medical, transportation)
Familiarity with software development methodologies, version control systems (e.g., Git), and continuous integration (CI) pipelines
The base salary range for this position is $141,000-$211,000 per year. Aurora's pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
