Position Role Type:

Collins Aerospace is for a Senior Systems Engineer for the Military Landing Systems team. You will support the system requirements development for our Military customers.

You will also be responsible for the entire lifecycle of NPI (New Product Introduction). You will be accountable for requirements definition and management, qualification testing, and system validation and verification. In addition, you will be interacting with global teams for internal and external customers.

  • Position is able to work Onsite at 1 of 2 locations: Troy OH. or Fort Worth TX.

  • Relocation assistance is available

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support for large, complex Landing Gear / Brake Control Systems and / or electric braking programs by developing system architectures and system requirements that will meet customer and regulatory requirements.

  • Perform system analyses required to assure system design will function as intended and be safe and reliable.

  • Review component requirements and designs to assure system performance and safety.

  • Develop technical proposals, negotiate, and finalize requirements with OEM's.

  • Develop and implement strategies to compete and win new business.

  • Conduct and participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) events utilizing various tools and methodologies

  • Communicate status/updates to senior level internal & external customer leadership

  • Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally when circumstances permit

  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications/Experience Needed

  • Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and typically a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

  • Experience working in a Lead capacity

  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement tools and methodologies

Qualifications/Experience Preferred

  • Demonstrated experience with software-based requirements management system such as Polarian or DOORS.

  • Demonstrated experience in the areas of requirements development, allocation, validation/verification, and/or safety.

  • Experience with any or all of the following requirements: SAE ARP 4754, ARP 4761, DO-178, DO-254 and FAR 25.1309 requirements and guidance to system development.

  • Ability to make closure on tasks in a multiple constraint environment.

  • Continuous Improvement experience i.e. Lean, Six Sigma, CORE or ACE
