Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer/Architect

Location: Huntsville, AL

Canvas inc. is seeking a talented Senior Systems Engineer/Architect to provide support to Open Systems Architecture approaches with our PEO Aviation government customer located in Huntsville, AL. This position is contingent upon award. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Lead cross functional/organizational teams ensuring customer and corporate objectives are met.

• Evaluating alternative acquisition/investment portfolios against future architecture direction/guidance to support senior level decision making.

• Synchronize solution architectures and system dependencies to achieve the enterprise mission architecture and meet the mission need.

• Develop and maintain architecture products, capture and communicate senior decision maker's intended direction and implementation guidance for an integrated mission architecture.

• Apply program-wide knowledge of evaluation methodology for conducting qualitative analyses of architectures to evaluate effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of projects/programs and provide guidance to monitor, evaluate, and recommend program improvements.

• Develop and maintain architecture models using modeling languages such as Unified Modeling Language (UML), Systems Modeling language (SySML), Unified Profile for DoDAF/MODAF (UPDM), and Unified Architecture Framework (UAF).

• Develop and extend system models using existing requirements, interface documentation, and related design and systems engineering documents.

• Integrate models to modern requirements management, architecture, and systems engineering software.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Logistics, Physics or a related technical discipline and 14 years of experience

• Systems engineering experience (e.g. system architecture and design, systems documentation, system requirements, CONOPS, systems verification).

• Experience using various model-based engineering tools such as

• Cameo Magic Draw, Rhapsody, Sparx Enterprise Architect, etc.

• Strong interpersonal skills, Proficient in Microsoft Office with a strong background in Excel and Power Point.

• Experience in modeling business process, avionics, autonomy, and real time systems desired.

Required Security Level: Must have and be able to maintain a Secret clearance; Top Secret preferred.
