What You Will Do:

Raytheon, an RTX business, is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer

  • Product Owner, to join our engineering team. In this role you will be responsible for the continued development of an advanced, leading-edge, software system providing excellent technical guidance and team communication. As the Senior Systems Engineer

  • Product Owner (SE

  • PO) you will function in a technical role in a SAFe Agile development environment and effectively work and communicate with all levels of Program Leadership, Customers, and Engineers on the Program team. This position is on-site in Richardson, Texas. As a SE

  • PO, you will collaborate with the Raytheon systems engineering and subcontractor teams to design and develop software. The SE

  • PO assists in providing technical direction and clarification to subcontractors during the entire software development lifecyle; from conceptualization and design to development, testing, deployment, and operations. The SE

  • PO performs solution decomposition from customer epics, to capabilities, to features, to stories according to SAFe practices. The SE

  • PO will apply systems engineering expertise in particular to feature designs to reduce overall risk to the software development lifecyle. The SE

  • PO will engage with customer user representatives to gather user needs and incorporate into the feature designs. The SE

  • PO will also engage with SMEs from other disciplines to fully understand the solution and document the designs.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • The SE product owner will be responsible to an agile team regarding the technical planning and development of capability / feature designs for the agile development teams.

  • The candidate is required to have significant knowledge of the full systems engineering and software development lifecycles and experience with design and architecture for a large software system

  • The candidate must be able to analyze complex requirements and determine viable customer solutions

  • The SE

  • PO will present detailed feature designs at Program Planning Events in front of customers and teammates

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance

  • Experience working in an Agile development team environment with multi-discipline engineers and stake holders, developing system solutions to meet customer requirements

  • Experienced with requirements decomposition and experience with CONOPS development

  • Solution oriented, strong communication skills, excellent problem-solving and time managent skills

  • Experience using Jira/Confluence agile management tools

  • Experience with subcontract management processes

  • Experience managing or guiding teams addressing solution definition, decomposition, and design

  • Experience performing design with cross-disciplined engineering teams

  • Experience with the software development lifecyle

  • Experience with EVMS basic processes

  • Experience utilizing software development automation (Build, Deploy, Test)

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Broad background and experience successfully working with all levels of engineering development in large government software development programs as well as an individual contributor as part of an agile development team

  • Extensive systems engineering experience, including support to development of large software systems, as Technical Lead or with subject matter expert experience

  • Extensive engineering experience working in the full software development lifecycle using Agile methodology that ensures high quality software is built and released to end-users quickly and within cost and schedule parameters

  • Experience using Agile tool sets (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.), and evaluation of

  • COTS products

  • Proven track record of speaking in the customer's voice and acting as the customer representative during the capability / feature solution development process

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
