We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer at our location in Santa Barbara, California. We provide sub-systems and components for every mission critical system on a modern military vehicle. Our heritage is in electrohydraulic and electromechanical actuation systems and now, through acquisitions and internal development,
Here's what you'll be working on day to day:
Provide systems engineering support for the design, development, integration, test, and verification of highly complex electro-mechanical systems
Interface with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders to generate component and subsystem specifications
Define hardware and software interfaces between subsystems
Develop, test, analyze, and document turret fire control algorithms
Build linear and nonlinear dynamic models and simulations to evaluate system performance
Provide technical leadership and guidance for development teams
Support lab and field testing
Generate technical documentation (plans, reports)
Occasional travel required
Here's what you'll need to bring with:
BS with an emphasis in Control Systems and Signal Processing
5 to 10 years industry experience
Classical and modern control systems design knowledge
Signal processing and data analysis knowledge
Hands-on experience working with the hardware and software aspects of electro-mechanical systems
MATLAB/Simulink knowledge
Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail
High level of motivation and willingness to learn
Strong work ethic
Ability to access US export-controlled information
Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance
It would be great if you also had:
MS with an emphasis in Control Systems and Signal Processing
Turret fire control systems design, integration, and test experience
MATLAB/Simulink expertise
Strong mathematical background
Active DoD Security Clearance
